This title song defines the entire story " Lakshya " is all about. As the name says it all, it is the story about Aim- WHAT AND HOW?

I am presenting here a brief outline of the story which goes like this.

Karan Shergill who is a student of Delhi University and son of a businessman, is aimless. He does not know what he wants from his life. He is living a life without a direction. He is just guided by whatever whoever tells him. He is in love with Romilla, who wants to be a journalist.

On fine day Karan decides to join the Indian Army and even on his fathers resistance he tales the examination conducted by the Indian Military Acaedemy and gets through it. He joins the IMA and sees the rigorous training soldiers have to undergo.... he is not able to  take this  and runs away from there....On coming back home he is taunted by his father and his beloved Romilla also leaves him as she feels that a person who is not committed to his work and aim  cant be comitted to her....and she decides never to meet him....

This completely changes him... he returns back to IMA, becomes dedicated to the cause and his aim. He undergoes the rigorous training there and finally becomes Lt Col. Karan Shergill. He calls Romilla. She says " Karan?". He says NO.... " Lt . Col Karan Shergill". She wants to meet him this time... but he refuses

Later on he realises his mistake and goes back home only to find that she hs been engaged with somebody else.... Then only a call comes from Srinagar asking him to report back as there are intruders across the LOC....Karan immediately returns back.....

All the soldiers march towards the LOC to ward off the intruders with the song" Kandhon se milte hain kandhe. Kadmon se kadam milte hain. Ham chalte hain jab aise to dil dushman ke hilte hain..". This song fills one with the zeal and energy to do something for the country and immediately run to the warfront to help our country...

As destiny shall have it Karan and Romilla meet again at the LOC front where Romilla comes to cover the warfront reports. Karan comes to know that her engagement has broken. They get back together... and all problems between them are solved.

The war continues with the loss of lives. Hats off to our soldiers who just go ahaed no matter what. They just dont care about their lives and just have one thing in their minds and i.e. the VICTORY of their country. This movie shows what all our soldiers go through during the wartimes. They survive for days together without food and water but with only one thing in mind that they have to WIN.

The dialogues are really well written...

In one scene Karan says to Romilla" tum hamesha kehti thi ki meri zindagi mein koi laksya nahin hai.... lekin aaj mera lakshya hai and he points towards the mountain peak on which he has to put the Indian Flag..... **This shows the feeling of an Indian Soldier.... Do or Die...

In another scene Karans father tells him **"aaj main sar utha kar aone doston se keh sakta hun ki mera beta sarhad par hai. A really touching dislogue which shows the pride of a father who is against his son joining the Army in the beginning but later on respects him for this.....

In another scene Col. Damle ( played by Amitabh Bachchan), says Har Hindustani aaj chain ki neend sota hai kyunki vo janta hai  ki sarhad par koi hai jo jaag raha hai. How true is this. We all have a good nights sleep here because of our brave soldiers who are having sleepless nights and are guarding our nation. The songs are nice, dialogues are really good and the story line is well framed and the picturesque Kashmir has been captured well....

I congratulate the team of Lakshya for making a wonderful movie.

My Salute to the Indian Army.
