Being an ardent fan of Lakme for a decade, let me share my disappointment. It gives me pain to say that I am one user who has been from I love Lakme to "No more" Lakme.
WHY?.
Just like a small gesture towards the client can make the client loyal towards a company for years, similarly a small mistake from the company can really bug a loyal customer to look for better and competitive brands in the market.
I would like to share my disappointing experience with Lakme which has really put me in a fix, so as should I ever continue with Lakme products?
Probably I must be having almost each and every product of Lakme. from Foundations to eye liners, from the old collection to the new Gypsy collection. u name it I have it! However, the Sheer satin lip Gloss which I used umpteen times was over and I asked my hubby to get a new pink one for me. Being a layman in the world of cosmetics. he simply asked the salesman in Shoppers Stop(The great India place, Noida) to help him out. To my surprise, the salesman did not know what's the difference between a Lip Gloss and a Lip Color! Since my choice was Pink, he punched "Orchid" in the Lip Color range while the one which I was looking for was Number 22 in the Sheer Satin Lip Gloss collection. Also please note I already have the Orchid Lip Color with me.
Nevertheless, when I realised I decided not to open the seal, retained the bill and thought I would easily get it exchanged at any shoppers stop outlet.
Within 2 days, I went to Shoppers Stop, Saket and politely asked the salesman at Lakme to do the needful. Now my ordeal begins here. he asked me, mam why would you like to change?
Me: Coz, I already have this one, I took this by mistake.
Salesman: what would you like to buy?
Me: Number 22 in Satin Lip Gloss
Salesman: Mam, you can't!
Me: Err. why? Any problem?
Salesman: That one is of a lesser value than this!
Me:(I never wanted a refund anyways) I said I am ready to buy fresh products above Rs. 475(the value of Orchid Lip Color)
Salesman: No mam, we can't do that
Me: Why?
Salesman: Mam, nahi kar sakte!
Now, what on earth was that? Whom should I really blame. Lakme or The Lakme salesman at Saket, or the foolish "untrained" Lakme Salesman in Noida who did not know what's the difference between a Lip GLOSS and a Lip COLOR! I
Needless to say I am highly disappointed and it is really a painful decision for me to say Good Bye to my favourite brand because I am sure Lakme is a too large of an organization to care for an individual loyal customer like me.
