You guys may be aware of that Lakme Fashion Week's is going on at NCPA, Mumbai. While Second day was not having that much glamour n glitter till evening as on First Day where Salman Khan - Surprise Package, John Abraham, Kajol & Preeti Zinta showed their presence n make it as Bollywood Lakme Fashion Show on the Red Carpet Ramp.
Fashion week’s second day didn’t start with as much glamour and celebration as the first but the glitter did get sprinkled by evening. The afternoon started with a back-to-back shows of Bennu Sehgall and Maheka Mirpuri. Then it was Sonam Dubal’s ‘Sanskar’. By evening the glam and glitter all came back around the ramp for Priyadarshini Rao and Wendell Rodricks.
But here Guys I m talking of Wardrobe Malfunction which is not new to Fashion Industry it happens many times. It’s happened to almost every model. Heck, it’s even happened to Janet Jackson, Former Miss World on September 03rd at Australia & even to Nigar Khan.
But wardrobe malfunction took on a new meaning at Lakme Fashion Week on Wednesday when walking down the ramp for designer Bennu Sehgall, model Carol Gracias’s halter-neck outfit came undone, and fell to her waist.
What got everyone buzzing was the professionalism with which Gracias handled the incident.
Her face betrayed her shock for a second, before she held the top back up, finished her walk, turned and left. When she appeared on the ramp later to model other outfits, the audience applauded.
What Carol Gracias says about this incident
“While we were doing the fittings, I had specifically asked Sehgall to tighten the strap of the halter neck, but when I wore it for the show, I realised it wasn’t done. My helper tried to use a pin, but the fabric was too thick and it didn’t go through,” Gracias said. “I’ve never been so embarrassed in my life.”
What Designer - Bennu Shegal says
Sehgall said it was an accident. “She dealt with it beautifully and finished my show. I’m obliged,” she said, adding that she had checked the garment after the show and nothing was wrong with it.
Model Bhawna Sharma blamed Sehgall. “We spend hours in fittings with designers before the show and they have all our measurements. After that, it’s the designer’s fault if a disaster like this happens,” she said.
“Another girl would have been shattered,” said Marc Robinson, the show’s choreographer. “After the show, I gave Carol a big hug. Not to console her, but to say that she’d done her job well.” However, the model put a brave face as she covered her topless body and continued walking till she went backstage.
Gracias said she would never model for Sehgall again. “If it wasn’t her fault, I wouldn’t mind, but she’s not even serious about her own work,” she said.
Fashion Industry appreciate's the justification Carol Gracious has done to her profession with such Confidence n without embrassement, even without changing her Face expression during wardrobe malfunction. It shows how tough it is n kind of hardwork these Models did to carry their work professionaly.
As fellow models and celebrities admired Carol's confidence, the question that triggered off was whether it was a wardrobe malfunction or a publicity stunt to gain media attention?
Yeps guys.........is it just to be in Limelight to gain media attention or it was just n mere accident????
