I used to frequent a particular Lakme salon near my house and these are my views:
Let me start with the long list of cons:
I was constantly pestered by the service providers to take all kinds of unwanted services. The pestering did not stop even if I said'NO' once. Oh god! It was damn irritating.
When opting for hair services such as a cut or colour, we are charged separately for hair wash and hair conditioning. And the conditioning which they call "deep conditioning" which lasts for maximum 5 minutes is almost as expensive as the cut. Also at times they charged for wash, at times they didn't. So there is some foul play going on.
The first time I did a facial, it was good! But after that I found that they complete their manual job in 20 minutes, apply a pack and get the hell out of there for about 20 minutes. This means that actual time they spend on massages is very less and the pack application for which no work needs to be done is so much higher!
And the services they provided with certain advanced facials is so very inconsistent.
There were two hair stylists who were constantly bickering, trying to steal the other person's clients and almost accusing the client if the client chose the other person. They made life hell and the service was also poor.
And they try to pry into to the client's personal affairs!
I sent an email to HLL with a few questions and I never even got a reply!
I however kept going there for a long time because the other parlours near my place turned out to be worse. A year ago I discovered another salon, a little far from my place but a complete god send:)
Pros:
Cleaner than most nearby salons but not the best
I like the fact that they have many copies of the services with prices(including tax) readily available which can be taken with you.
