Had a really horrifying experience here!. Review on Lakme Beauty Salon - Bangalore

Recently for my cousins wedding, I took the services of Lakme Salon in Bannerghatta Road. Though I had done prior booking via phone, I was asked to wait because all the staff were already occupied with other customers. Tired and equally bored of hearing the receptionist gossiping non-stop and loudly over the phone, I walked up to her and informed her that I have only an hour's time before the function and politely requested her to arrange someone who could attend to me. But all I got was a blank expression in return and she continued again with her chit chatting. After what seemed to be like another hour's wait, finally she hung up the phone and got one of the staff to take me inside.

I explained to her that all I needed was help in saree draping, a light make-up and a good hairstyle. But I realized it was a mistake coming to this salon, when I saw how horribly she draped my saree. Mine was a designer lace saree with heavy works and I could see she was not able to handle it properly. Anyway I tried to cheer up myself thinking at least I would get a decent makeover. However, in spite of repeated reminders that all I wanted was a light make-up that looked natural, the liquid foundation she used made me look cakey and unnatural. I was quite disappointed and was silently cursing myself for coming to this salon before cross-checking with friends and family. I had to wipe off the excess make-up( almost half) so that I don't end up looking like a joker. Anyway, thankfully the hairstylist was quite good and patient enough and she was the saving grace I badly needed.

Next day after the wedding, I noticed my skin was looking red and patchy in some areas and also my cheek area showed signs of a possible breakout. After washing my face, my skin started feeling all the more itchy and I had to apply a generous amount of moisturizer to soothe the irritated areas. My face started looking a lot better after washing it with ice water every two hours. I've been to other Lakme salons and I've never faced any issues there. But I'm really disappointed with the service I got from their branch in Bannerghatta. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone especially after what I had to go through and also when there are so many local salons around that would do a better job without emptying your purse.
