Been to Club Mahindra Lake Pavana last weekend and checked out a day earlier than planned. The resort is well located & well laid out but the management of the resort leaves a lot to be desired. With pouring rain and the rooms being 1 km away from the dining room and activity centre the internal buggy transport system left a lot to be desired. It took almost 45 minutes for a pick up to arrive.
With 200 guests and 80 rooms operational there were only 2 buggies working to transport the guests within the resort. There is no fun dining option for members. The food is priced exorbitantly leaving a feeling that since there is no other option (the resort is a good 25 kms from Lonavala with very poor approach road for the last 8 kms) the guests are forced to take whatever is offered at a ridiculously high price (5 star rates but 1 star taste). The housekeeping left a lot to be desired. ( We found a 2 inch cockroach in the room). The housekeeping apologized. The staff is very courteous but helpless.
Areas which need immediate attention include food, housekeeping, approach road (there is no other resort on the last 8 kms which are very poorly maintained), in-resort transportation and yes the landscaping. There are huge open areas which can be transformed into beautiful lawns, with appropriate lighting. It has a potential of being transformed into a world class resort.
Overall an excellent place to visit but needs a complete spruce up on the management front..
Well post my review the GM at the resort has called up and assured a much better experience the next time. Lets hope for the best
