"Yeh Uthna Tere Ko Sorry Bolne Ka Hain". Review on Lage Raho Munnabhai

Oh yeah!! I am writing a revu in spite being aware that Won’t do enough justice. :-D

Ok, the reason I am writing is just to convey that "do not miss it", now that its Tax free too. Already

have been responsible for pushing quite a few people including my parents to watch this entertainer. No doubt, Chopra and Hirani are making lot of money but more than that what they did is "Ek teer Mein Do Panchi"(Two birds with one arrow... as it is translation ;-))

I watched this movie with about 5 other guys which included 2 tamilians and 1 Mallu who do not understand Hindi properly. Nevertheless they agreed due to the provision of subtitles. Usually the interaction between us after the movi

e ends is "play the blame game" but Thank Mamu, this time it was opposite.

This is not actually a sequel of Munna Bhai MBBS(MB MBBS) but on similar lines, another entertainer with a message from the Hirani+Chopra duo. This time a very delicate issue handled perfectly. Immediately, after the success of MB MBBS, the director declared that he had plans of Munnabhai LLB but came out with Lage Raho MB.

The movie starts with usual chemistry between Circuit-Munna and background creation of the story developed to woo the female lead in the disguise that MunnaBhai is a Gandhian. In the process, Munna meets Gandhi and solves problems Gandhian way than his way and wins the girl he loves.

Direction:

Perfecto for Indian standards. I have read "My Experiments with Truth"(the autobiography of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi) when I was in School. That time, the philosophy was too much to be digested that too, just by reading a book. In today’s times when everything has to be spoon fed by showing how to cook food to what & how to do while exercising to how to deal relations, this movie serves closest to make people understand Gandhi’s ideologies. Hirani did a fine job balancing entertainment and conveying the message without going overboard.

Music & Lyrics:

Not that great but yes enjoyable enough.

Bole Tho Bole Woh Kaisi Hogi Haaye.. sung by Rathod expresses all those doubts/feelings that a guy/gal expects of the other whom he/she has not met before... Maa ke paiir chuyegi ya just kahegi Hi, Haye rey Haye". Also, Hirani makes sure that his Hero likes the girl for what she is and not by looking at how she is.

Yeh Bhai Huva Kya??? .. a time pass song as though to entertain kids. circuit’s facial expressions and light hearted dance is enjoyable. "Samjho Ho Hee Gaya....."

Pal Pal har Pal .. hummable romantic number pretty well sung by Shreya similar on the lines of "Chann Chann Man Gaaye Kyun.. " from the previous MB MBBS

Aane Char Aana.. in line with the Goan atmosphere.

Performances:

Sanjay Dutt as Munnabhai -> Does well.

Dilip Prabhavalkar as Gandhi -> Perfect as the Hatke Bapu. Remember he is seen in the movie as the guy who delivers flowers to Lucky Singh as himself without Makeup.

Vidya Balan as Jhanvi -> Gorgeous as the lively RJ.

Arshad Warsi as Sarkeshwar -> Agreed that Chopra came out with this character as the sidekick of Munnabhai but all credit goes to Arshad Waris aka Circuit for bringing out so much of life to the character with his expressions and one liners. "Yeh Batuk Maharaj, Uthna tere ko Sorry Bone ka Hain.."

Boman Irani as Lucky Singh -> Without this person for the Lucky Singh character, the movie would not have been as enjoyable as it is now. Not once did I feel that he is not a Sardarji and that speaks volumes of his capability as an performer.

Over all a neat movie that can be watched with family, pondered over, implemented to an extent and even suggest.

So go ahead and do watch it once. Am so glad that we have a Gandhi version so close to our lives.

Chopra is coming out with a Munna+Circuit Comic Series and guess what Munna and Circuit visiting Amrika next time .. Ha Ha..
