So what is all the hype surrounding LOC Kargil?There are so many films based on Indo-Pak wars,so what`s so special about this movie?Of course,its cast,which consists of almost the entire Bollywood film industry,ranging from first class actors to C-grade actors.Also,there are 11 ladies in this film.The film is based on the 1999 war between India and Pakistan.This film focuses on those who lose their lives for their countries.So,after so much hype,does LOC Kargil succeed to live up to its expectations?

”LOC Kargil” (LOC meaning Line Of Control),directed by J.P Dutta,stars Armaan Kohli,Raj Babbar,Mohnish Behl,Kiran Kumar,Amar Upadhyay,Kulbhushan Kharbanda,Sudesh Beri,Milind Gunaji,Ayub Khan,Mukesh Tiwari,Ashish Vidhyarti,Himanshu Malik,Bikram Saluja,Avtar Gill,Sanjay Dutt,Abhishek Bachchan,Saif Ali Khan,Manoj Bajpai,Nagarjuna,Ashutosh Rana,Ajay Devgan,Akshaye Khanna,Suniel Shetty,Sanjay Kapoor,Karan Nath,Puru Raajkumar,Kareena Kapoor,Raveena Tandon,Preeti Jhangiani,Akaansha,Namrata Shirodkar,Rani Mukherjee,Esha Deol,Mahima Chaudhary,Divya Dutta,Isha Koppikar and Priya Gill.This is the most awaited film of the year for several reasons:
1.J.P Dutta is a master in making war films between India and Pakistan.He already impressed the audiences through his films like Border and Refugee (though it wasn`t that successful at the BO).
2.This film has a huge star cast,consisting of 26 actors and 11 actresses of Bollywood.
3.The film is said to be a 4 hours one,which is another factor which will add to the curiosity of viewers,to know why the film is that long?
4.The film has an impressive music soundtrack,written by Javed Akhtar and music composed by Anu Malik.
5.While making the movie,the actors suffered from great accidents and so,people would like to see a movie,which was made with so much of enthusiasm.
6.Moreover,the action lovers will definitely look out for this movie,because of the bombs blasting etc.
THE STORY:
This film is based on the 1999 war between India and Pakistan.There was so much of bloodshed,so many disasters were caused,and more than that,so many lives went away.So many sacrifices took place.Every person has his own story,and so,this film also focuses on the lives of each fighters,individually.
Behind every successful man there is the hand of a woman….
You`ve gone to see a whole 4 hrs.long movie.Surely,you would like to see women in such a multistarrer.These are the women,who love their men,who miss them,call them.Will they ever come back?
Here,we have got the following:
1.Kareena Kapoor,who is paired opposite Saif Ali Khan.She just comes in small scenes,a song and that`s it.She is after all there to please J.P Dutta.
2.Raveena Tandon,who is paired with Sanjay Kapoor,doesn`t even get much scope.
3.Rani Mukherjee who plays Ajay Devgan`s,love interest is good,in her small parts.
Esha Deol doesn`t get much scope,but amongst other actresses,she has the meatiest role.Divya Dutta and Namrata Shirodkar are fine.Akaansha (from the flop Yeh Mohabbat Hai),doesn’t get any scope.Ishaa Koppikar and Priya Gill,don`t appear much frequently.Preeti Jhangiani and Mahima Chaudhary look nice.
The fighters…..their emotions….”wherever I stay….in my heart….you exist”…but what can they do,they are peacemakers and love their nation!
They are a wonderful example of brotherhood.They always helped each other,loved each other,loved their country.They all died,and sacrificed their lives and their loved ones lost them.All of them have these things in common.
Amongst the actors,everyone is amazing in their respective roles,but those who leave a mark are:
Ajay Devgan playing the role of the army man Manoj(Koi Shak?).You can see the pain a fighter who has left everything to serve his nation and you can see the bravery of a man who his fighting for his country,in his eyes.This is one such actor who acts through his eyes.
Sanjay Dutt playing the role of the army man Y.K Joe does an excellent job with vulnerable ease.
Suniel Shetty playing the role of the army man Sanjay,gets into the skin of his character.His dialogue delivery is wonderful.
Ashutosh Rana playing the role of army man Yogendra,gives a brilliant performance with lots of enthusiasm.
Manoj Bajpai,Akshaye Khanna,Nagarjuna,Karan Nath,Puru Raajkumar,Saif Ali Khan and Abhishek Bachchan(Yeh Dil Maange More!) also impress.The rest also do full justice to their roles.
”If we sacrificed our lives…we don`t regret….kyunki hum SHAHEED hue….
At last,all of them die,but hold their hands together,for support,till the end of their lives.Don`t forget,they are the ones who protected YOUR country,till they died.
THE WORK OF THE CREW:
J.P Dutta`s direction is brilliant.The dramatic portions,or the scenes where the wars are going on,are seriously going to create a magic.Also,the film ends on a very good note,leaving a message for its viewers.In this film,the army men are not only shown as fighters but also as normal people like anyone of us.Like me,like you,like anyone and this is the best thing about the film.Also,the film is filled with emotions.For instance,check out Mahima`s scenes,where she is running after Manoj Bajpai,when he is leaving.Also,check out Amar Upadhyay`s death scene.
