I had to write this review to pump up this movies ratings.... :)

I am one who thinks from the heart and this movie is one from the heart (like Dil Se, you know).....

I recommend this movie for all Indians (in spite of its many cons).......Lest we forget...

This review is in point format only..........there are already many long reviews already..........read Amjad's review for a detailed view :)

GOOD POINTS:

  1. I loved the ''realism'' - with actual bullet sounds, artillery sounds, BOFORS gun sounds etc. Also, the locales were stunning.........and absolutely wonderful.

  2. Everyone has acted very well.........I must mention Abhishek, Manoj Bajpai, Ashutosh Rana, Puru, Sunil Shetty, Saif and Ajay Devgan as acted especially well..........The casting is superb...everyone looks their parts........

  3. Loved Abhishek's (Capt. Batra) ''Dil Maange more''.

  4. You actually feel as if you are with the soldiers in battle. You really begin to understand what it must be like (the fear, the bravery...).

BAD POINTS:

  1. Toooo long. 4 hours! I started getting a backache :)

  2. No particular story fixes in your mind. At the end of the film, all you feel is admiration for all the soldiers but nothing more, nothing specific haunts you.......

  3. Hated the rona-dhona of the sisters/mothers etc. This could have been done in a better way. It becomes very repetitive, especially the emotional songs. Songs too are nothing much to write about....

All in all, I would recommend the movie. For people like me who dont have any idea about war and who were forgetting Kargil, its a wake-up call.

Go see it.
