Dear All Users/Victims,
I purchased, in September 2004, this handset because of its cool stylish looks and some good features. At the time of its launch it was best of most the choices in the price bracket of Rs. 3000-3500.
This handset has got some design fault in its motherboard. The phone is very slow in all its functioning - browsing memory, messages, etc. It restarts sometimes while sending SMS and receiving calls. LG and Reliance knew about this issue, but could not do much about it. Up till some extent reloading of software could fix the problem, but this option wasn’t applicable to most of the handsets already in use.
The handset was most widely used for its R-Connect feature. And I enjoyed Internet a lot using this handset - thanks to LG & Samsung for this feature. Towards end of its use, I used this handset only for Internet, and took another one to be used as Phone. Eventually I had my cable internet connection unsubscribed, and I relied solely on R-Connect.
Now I am using Cable Internet connection again, as the technical issue with handset software and motherboard irritated me to its death.
I would suggest, never go for handsets provided my Mobile Phone Service providers. In Indian LG doesn’t have any legal rights to sell mobile phones, as Reliance is selling the phones to its network users? Wait for 5-6 more years, and you would be having your own mobile number. You would purchase mobile numbers, and would own it.
