Many have written aptly about this Handset, but now I would like to touch the oldest aspect of Reliance tie up with this handset.
I purchased this in DAPO where in I have fully paid Rs 24K of which a whopping Ten Thousand Rupees is for this Handset. Where as it was given off for as less as Rs 500 (two for Rs 500 I heard too) as soon as 4 months after my purchase.
But the best deal I got is that SMS nationwide are free for the first three years. Previously the SMS to help number 1234 for services like Cricket and Jokes are also free but now they are charged.
Another best thing about DAPO is the cheapest Roaming available, I roam whole India with my phone to receive calls at 40 paise per minute(there are 160 free minutes per month) and my home calls me locally where ever I am.
The phone is very robust that it has taken all the droppings and rough handling for the last two years. But the keys got eroded and the back has gone pale while charging.
There was a time when offer was given to enhance this set to Color Mobile for virtually free but I could not respond with-in the time, I am waiting for such offer to be open always.
Good Things:
I agree on the sound quality being great and its having melodious ringtones. Another good feature about Reliance CDMA is that there is no need to set time, it is being transmitted by the Signals. One should not be allowed to set time too. :)
Negatives:
1) The Planner has limited memory and does not warn aptly when memory is full.
2) The voice message feature does not work ever. (some one can correct me)
3) The phone can be used as a Navigator while travelling that it displays Service Area but the info. is limited to the name of city but not to detail of Tower Location.
4) R-World does not respond at times and only way to come back is pressing 'END' key.
5) Most of the features are in R world and not directly on phone, like Stopwatch
