Google is making companies to go for better hardware offering with every release. LG this time delivers a cute phone. I used LG phones earlier but not with Android on it. Then I shifted to Samsung Galaxy Series and was fan of Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S, which I admire to be the best phone I ever used. Now I made this purchase of Nexus 5, hoping that it will be good.

First Impression

LG Nexus 5 is a cute slim phone which just weight 130 gm. But when I opened the box and started the device, I was expecting bunch of applications on it as Samsung does. But it was not the case. Since I was quite used to Samsung UI and apps, it looks a bit plain vanilla kind.

Google Rocks

I started giving it a try for some time. Slowly I started loving the phone due to many nifty features. True HD IPS+ 5 inch display is simply awesome. The picture quality is incomparable as it has 1920x1080 pixels resolution and 445 pixel density and it is stunning Full HD display.

Since it does not have customized UI, it runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat with Google UI and this is the best thing that you won't feel any lag when you transition or swipe to other page or scroll. It's pretty fast. The overall experience is also fast as it has 2 GB RAM which is still not common on many phones at this price tag.

The build quality is good and looks quite sturdy and durable. I forgot to mention that it has Gorilla glass 3, which helps in avoiding any scratches on the screen. This is very tough glass as it is claimed to be.

Camera

It will be good to mention that I compared camera quality with few other phones of similar category from Samsung, Sony and HTC. I found the camera has better picture quality in Nexus 5 and also it is easy to use. A nice feature provided here is HDR+, which enhances the picture quality and helps taking stunning low light sharp photos. You can also take 360 degree view, this is unbelievable that these features are provided in this phone which is not available even in higher end phone/cameras.

Connectivity(4G/LTE)

Guys, this makes it future ready phone. I thought of getting 4G phone currently or not. But when it is available in this price range then why not. 3G/4G is still costly in India but over period of time it will be easy to get so I decided to go for it. But it's WiFi connectivity is really good and fast. I tried on other phones but the connectivity was good in Note 2 but it is better and faster in this phone.

Battery

I really loved the battery backup in Nexus 5. The easily runs more than 14-17 hours, depending upon your usage. For me it is sufficient to run for two days, as standby is also over 300 hours.

Sound quality-

Sound quality is average if not best in the lot. It is not the loudest but good. I hope it would have been a bit louder.

My Verdict

LG Nexus 5 is undoubtedly, a cute looking slim phone with stunning display. Overall surfing and user experience is butter smooth. With Google as provider, it is sure that you will get the Android updates prior to anybody else, which is plus point and advantage. I have used for last two months and did not find any problem with it so far. I will recommend to go far it, trust me you will feel proud to make this decision.
