Hi All Nice to express my self in this site. I found this site through one reference of mine, a friend. I was while in work talking of the problems I have faced and then this friend told me that while I am expressing my problems, why not inform all others of it.


This idea was indeed good as not only I have problems, and no solutin from the company i.e LG electronics in India, but others who have similar problems should also come out and inform public.


I bought an airconditioner from LG dealer in May 2003. Before buying, actually I went to the local shop in Yusuf Sarai to buy a cooler. While I was discussing with the dealer, I was told to choose between plastic body coolers and metal body. I found the dealer too pushy and so thought why not see in another shop and so beside this shop is one LG showroom and so I went in there with my wife.


Firstly the dealer was too good, he started giving us details of sets he had kept there. He showed us the catalog and some features. When I asked for the comparison between collers and ac set, he told me of the world famous health air system in LG. Unfortunately our misery started here, when my wife became emotional (as she was on her family way) and started to push me to buy the ac set with remote. This was the biggest mistake I made and I purchased it .


The set was delivered to my house at 11.45 pm in the night. Just imagine, suddenly in the quiet night, a loud door bell ringing and my wife warning me that it may be some robbers and so not to go and open the door. It is alarming and frustrating - forget the ac cooling later on. Next morning I rang up the dealer and told him why he sent it late, he gave me all the excuses one can give, including blaming the delhi police and mcd and so on.


I only wish the chief minister and mcd chief would have heard what he said. The ac technician from LG (so called) then called me up properly and said he will come at 4 o clock in evening. So, I took permission from my office and went home. that was the only thing on time. Nobody came or even bothered to call me up. at 5 o clock I called up the dealer and he told me that the technician was on the way, stuck up in traffic. Nobody came till 8.30 when two persons come, no uniform of LG or anything. I thought the previous night robbers may be in this form really. Anyway they were not robbers and they installed in the next 2 and half hours and went away.


That night we slept in the cool comfort. The next evening, when we switched on the ac, a loud sound came and there was not this set going on. We did not know what happened. It was around 9 30 and when we tried the dealer, no response. So this night, again to old times , we used the fan and were very angry on our choice of LG.


Next morning I rang up the dealer. He told me dont worry, banda aa jayega. Till 3 pm nobody came. then I called up dealer, somebody else picked up and gave me the LG service number. When I asked why you are not sending technician, he told me his job ends in sale and for service and any complaints in future, I should call this number only. LG I think have given their service to some third partes, as when I called up, some nutcase told me don't worry the technician will come next day.


I told him I want service the same day, as the set is only one day old. He did not even care to talk properly and kept saying next day service. I got angry. I spoke to 197 and got LG head office number in okhla and somehow got in touch with ther service manager and shouted a lot. No use. Next day somebody cam and then repaired it. He said power supply is bad. How come, they gave me a connection of stabiliser which I had paid for, so how can the set go bad.


I asked for a replacement and immediately NO was the reply. So I kept using the ac thereafter. To my surprise for the next two months, no problem. Then again this big noice when I switch on the set. The sound was like a generator starting, for a minute or so and then proper working. I was shocked, as normally I switch on the ac, my wife does not touch the electronic sets in our house. Again, I called their service center and the same story. They in LG keep talking a lot, but their sets and service is hopeless.


This time, they said the compressor is not proper and needs changing. They took it to their service center and did not return for more than 3 days. Do you know, there was an open in my wall in the bedrrom and we had to put a newspaper thickly to cover it, otherwise crows andbirds were entering our room.


I then decided, I will never buy LG products as both their service and product is hopeless. I am not sure of others, but what I have gone through is hell and I do not want to undergo this again. Infact my old bpl tv is still going strong, I will never even try to buy a LG tv because of this bad happening. Sorry to be long, but this is the story of mine.
