So since I could not run the LSA19Z AC at full blast due to multiple problems. Including higher elec bills, water leaking onto the wiring etc I decided to get another AC in the other room. I went into the shop and told them I wanted another AC because they did not install the first one properly.

I decided I wanted the smaller one and no stabilizer since I was going to use the same one. The cost ended up being the same as the 1.6T one even though and I was going to just get the bigger one if that was the case but by now I just wanted to get it all over with. The mosquitos and heat was really getting to me. I told them that if they did not install it where I wanted and how I wanted I would send them packing. This saleman was far worse. Some of these guys are so arrogant that it defies words. So I ended up paying the same for the 1T unit as the 1.6T because they had an ad for it and it was in demand. More than the list price since I wont take a stablizer with it. Fine.

Next day different installers came and did all the measuring and said the pipe was too long and they need to cut a small amount from both ends. Fine.. Then they said they needed a ball joint to make it stronger. Fine.. When I came back into the room they had the pipe cut into 2 pieces and I had my mouth open. WHY??? I told everyone this was a temporary install and so I needed everything ready to be moved. Then they go to get the ball joint. then they installed everything and said the pipe was too short. I was like, but then why did you cut it? And can it be installed differently. Yea but then the pipes too long, More cutting.. Everything works.. The outdoor unit is now taunt since all the cutting and moving means not much free play there. They started it and tested it and left.

So that night I start hearing noises. The outdoor unit would transmit the noise via the copper pipe and it would come out of the ball joint they created. A few days later I hear wind cutting noise. Opening the unit I find that they had broken off the retaining clamp. Its plastic and that means the entire cover needs to be replaced. After another few days I hear his loud thang. Looking inside the slider that moves the vent had broken off. Another couple of weeks go by and the remote dont work, looking inside, the battery had leaked. Looking further inside the case, the fins are all bent. When they assembled the unit it was done by people on drugs who could not place pieces properly and instead just shoved things to fit.

At least the unit cools and it dont cost much to operate. The air flow is fine since they installed it where I wanted. I think the 5star rating lowers cost a lot but the units are also hard to find so you dont have too many choices or options. Now it looks like LG gets the samsung rejects. Both sales and installers. I seen my neighbors and my brothers and relatives samsung units and they look like professionals did it. They also paid a lot less since they get 2 and 3 stars. When my neighbour has his unit on, the only reason I know its on is seeing the water drip, his unit is 5 feet to the other side of mine and standing next to his I cant hear it, but I can hear mine no problem when I stand next to his unit which is also on. The 1.6T LG unit whines like an aircraft taking off and the 1T is loud as well. I had to move it around so it dont vibrate so much. I had asked the installers why they did not install the rubber bushing that came with it, dont expect an answer. But moving the pipes and unit a little around I was able to reduce the noise and vibrations a lot but it is still very noticable.

Even the Onida once is better. But at the time I did not have too many choices. Until LG starts to really crack down on quality and control, they will be no better than gold star, a pathetic koran company that sold cheap and unreliable equipment. They have improved a lot but if this is what they have now, Samsung is way way way better in every respect. When LG called to do their free maintance I told my wife that if they show up I will throw rocks at them. So I skipped on the 6 or 8 free vists of pathetic checkers to see how it works. Not only do they not tell you what all you need. They dont even come with the stuff to do a proper install. The manual is very clear on how to do a proper install but you dont get to see it until they bring the unit. Why cant they tell you at the shop what all extras you need so you can be ready? Oh yea it took me over an year to be able to write this. The foam covering the copper tuning is all fallen off since they were not wrapped with tape as stated in the manual. Its hard to do since you have to climb on a ladder to it to do it yourself in an apartment complex. The samsung guys bought their own tape and did all the covering and stuff for free without asking you or telling you its another rs500. They did not try to steal the copper tubing and installed properly wrapped it around so you dont even see it. Every LG install I seen has problems of one kind or another. But it is much easier to find than Samsung or anything else. There are 5 LG show rooms around here and not a single samsung. So people buy it. Only because they have not many other choices.

What really got me was that no one knew that the star ratings change every year. Last years 5 star is this years 4 star model. See my complaints about the sales people. No one knew how they were based or calculated or what the EER numbers ment or the Cooling Watts but they wanted to charge you more trying to make you look like an idiot wink wink nudge nudge. I am critical because these are LG stores not just regular retail stores. I expected LG service and treatment. Other wise I would go look at a discount retail store and pay less and do the work myself. Oh yea dont bother with emails and such wonders. None of the LG stores and LG india itself bothered to reply.

Pathetic beyond words.
