Great, affordable 3G phone;packed with features. Review on LG GT 505

With 3G on the horizon, (BSNL has it in TN), I decided to change my mobile ;therefore looked at all possible features and options as below:

I looked at a number of Windows OS mobiles like Samsung Omnia pro(21731) HTC Touch HD(33365) Acer F900(24519) & Sony Ericson Aino(22692) Acer had the biggest screen size at 3.75" & others between 3.25 to 3.5".However the huge cost put off the buying decision. It was during such mental turmoil that Samsung Corby Pro was launched in the second week of 12/09 at a great price of Rs12500/.It had almost all the above features with a screen size of 2.8".& a 3 MP camera.My friend asked my to buy a smart mobile for him.I got the Corby Pro for him.I used it for a couple of days and was greatly delighted.I did notice that the Corby Pro was heavy & bulky at 130gms c sliding QWERTY key pad.

My old CDMA phone was showing signs of distress while keying and required me to tinker with it often. I

decided to change & googled to find another great mobile & that too sleek and light wala IPhone. It was the

LG-GT505.(wonder why I had not spotted it earlier ! )The price had dropped from Rs.14000/- earlier to 12500/-. I bought myself a LG GT505 and find it a sheer delight to handle for the following reasons:

1.Display is sharp, clear & large at 3 inches with Java OS ,

restive touch screen - S class user interface.

2.Very light for its features at 98 gms

3.Has number of options to key in - virtual keyboard, hand writing recognition etc.

4.The camera at the rear is sharp at .....5MP!!

5.Has a convenient flash..useful within 1-1.5 feet.

6.Comes with a 2Gig Micro SD, you can expand it upto 8Gig

1. Has convenient keys on the left for Micro SD card & on the right you have keys for volume, camera and

screen lock.

8.There is an All in one Micro slot for charging, ear phones and downloads

9.Touch functions are very responsive.your touch style is recorded for faster touch response from the mobile.

10.Has a convenient document viewer to view PDF, Word, XL & PPT files.

11.In addition to Google Earth, the mobile has a dedicated GPS software from Wisepilot.

12.Screen resolution- 240X400

13.Only 3 keys on face left call off , centre menu, right call on.

LG has a good network of dedicated service centers in Chennai and I have had a pleasant experience so far. LG GT505 is a true value for money mobile, packed with features and definitely worth buying.
