Worst fridge ever. Review on LG GR-201TPQX Refrigerator

Actually I was an LG fridge fan coz I owned one before which was good and I used it for 5 yrs, which I had to dispose off due to transfer. So obviously I went and bought another LG fridge from Pondicherry in 2007 not knowing that they had made major compromises with the quality by then. Its been three years and I have umpteen problems repeatedly with it. First, of you look at that fridge now, it looks like 25 years old! The outside paint has come off, stained and become rough. No, there are no children in my house. Nothing I do will take away the stain and roughness. Second, the rubber lining stopped working in between and I had to call the service people who said I had to replace it. Of course after just one year I didn't want to, so they repaired and went. After that its ok for most times but off and on it creates problem. Thirdly sometimes the door does not close properly and cooling is affected as well as ice forms.

This is without the fridge being over loaded, it just stops working so each time I open and close I have to use the key, which is not comfortable. BTW even the key is so cheap and it doesnt stay in place on the slot, it falls off with slightest of movement. Fourth, the racks inside have been designed so badly probably to cut cost that they do not have the whole outline for them i.e. they are missing the entire sides so they repeatedly slide off easily from their places and things fall off from them and break. .I tried pasting them to the sides with cellotape to prevent them from slipping off but doesnt work for long. Its very irritating to have a frdige whose rack threatens to fall off everytime you take things out. Fifth, the body has started rusting already from the front and have holes!

My 16 years old 100 L Godrej fridge looks far newer. Its a very bad purchase. My advice is go for something else. And yes, shops push it with gusto because they get a huge margin. Please do not get fooled. All the best.
