You know why you read reviews and look for product features, the answer is simple. nobody wants to throw their money in a product which others might have tried and declared as useless. It is always good to have some knowledge about product and get the user experience on that.
So I thought that I will write the review after using the product. For last two years I have seen this product working silently in my kitchen without any trouble.
Synopsis
LG GL-245TMG4, is a good product which gives value for your money right away. It has got 4 stars BEE ratings, which means this will save your electricity bill over the years.
It has got unbreakable material inside, double door, 230 liters capacity, egg rack, multi air flow system, door cooling, automatic defrosting feature, deodorizer, chiller tray, front access defrost tray and anti bacteria door gasket.
The product is good in build, look and design. I liked the metallic color finish one, so I bought that since it gives extra advantage of being less prone to scratches than the powder coated one.
I have only faced a small problem, as anyone can categorize it as a problem, that after the product was delivered to my house. it was installed and demo to me only after 4 days.
My purchase
I bought LG GL-245TMG4 metallic color, in Aug 2007, so it is now more than two years. I purchased this product in Bangalore, from PAI international. PAI had a gift offer on every purchase, so I got six pieces glass bowl set. which I guess should cost somewhere around Rs 150/-.
To safe guard my refrigerator, I also purchased stabilizer from V-Guard.
My experience
As always, the service technician is the only concern but the good thing is that they come. They may delay for few days. grrrrrrr. Since they are limited and have loads of work so there will be a definite delay in installation. in my case it took 4 days for installation and demo. However I would like to mention here that PAI delivered the product very next day and informed the LG care about the sales made but it's LG technician who took 4 days to clear his call before he could reach my place.
The refrigerator is really a good one and so far it has not given me any kind of trouble till date(even after 2+ years). The performance of the refrigerator is good and it has got 4 stars BEE ratings which is good enough to boast the power savings.
Features I liked most
Twist-N-Serve
First of all I like the ICE tray tilt feature, which is good and becoming a standard in most of the refrigerator nowadays but if you are buying a new one, check this out. this is really cool.
Door cooling
What does this actually means? The doors have separate cool air vents. These vents keeps everything fresh, in door shelves.
Freezer knob
I generally set the temperature depending upon the temperature outside and the stuff placed inside the refrigerator. You know what this really helps in keeping my electricity bills in control.
Recommendation
It has got enough space, 230 liters, for a family of 4-5 persons(I guess). Mine is small, 4 persons, so it is well suited for me. Since I have not faced any problem with the refrigerator so far, since Aug 2007 till date, and the cooling is excellent. I will definitely recommend this on two grounds 1. Value for money and 2. good cooling, as promised.
Safe guard your refrigerator and do purchase a stabilizer, since investing 800/- bucks more can protect your 14K.
