Waited for the last breath of our good old Whirlpool 5.5 kg Europa Classic - Front Loading . This gentle machine gave us service for 10 years. No major complains , though making my wife explain not to stuff clothes in each wash. Results were always very sad. Can't interfere with argument she used to provide and I guess this will be everywhere.
We wanted a very large capacity this time, and Whirlpool don't have it in India.
I had used the LG Steam Washer in US 2 years back and was very impressed . Finally I got this 9kg wash /5kg Dry with Steam option in India, there too many hot debates. So big, so much money blah, blah , blah.. Yes is expensive at Rs 61000 /- and a brave heart to spend the money . But for the rest of next 10-15 years , it may a peace of mind. It has a rating of 4.6/5 in US and South Asia .
The Steam washer/dryer has exceeded all expectations we had , as it cleans methodically and efficiently. Finally this is a convincing statement from my Wife finally . The Steam really helps remove the stubborn stains and also does perm pressing as well, if the clothes are crumpled. The clothes now have ample of space to rotate, even if we put 7-8kg of clothes.
Enough room to tumble and get washed properly. It has spin speed options from 400-1400 RPM. Though the dryer only option is used rarely. Extra Rinse+ and Rinse & Hold completely remove the soap from clothes. The water is used very optimally and it is the steam which actually heats up inside. So you can keep the temperature down at 50* C. and still get the results. It has independent spin only function and rinse+spin function.
The steam refresh cycle is a fantastic function, It blasts clothes with powerful steam to smoothen wrinkles and remove odours. Just when you are in rush to a meeting or party and find the dhobi has still not ironed out the creases, thats when steam refresh really works wonder.
Oh I didn't tell you this, my wife called to my office after started a wash cycle on her own. " Honey there is no noise coming from the machine. Wonder how it is washing the clothes ? " I told her to watch it for some time and see the process. Another day, she calls up, the electricity charges have gone down by 10 %. So finally she is happy with the clothes getting a thorough wash, cupboard dry whenever she wants and less water & electricity consumption. Can be intimidating to ladies initially, with buttons and options. But once you are used to it , then the results will speak for itself.
I will strongly suggest a buy on this machine, its worth every penny. Touch other LG machines are still working fine with no problems yet. Be Brave and you won't regret.
