This is my first review. I thought I'd write this review since before I bought the plasma TV I couldn't find a lot of reviews for the same!
Here is a TV which is totally against the current market trend. Something which bends the rules of prices and still gives you a satisfying product.
When I saw the price of this TV, at first, I was looking for the 1 before the Rs.50, 000 price tag. I called the sales person and he confirmed that this 42" PLASMA. Yes. PLASMA. was only for Rs.50, 000, thats approx a$1000 only!
I had been looking for a TV in the market for ages and I couldn't find something which had BOTH good picture quality AND good sound. I was blinded by the market trend to look at, LCD this and LCD that.
The whole purpose of buying a nice big large sized, flat screen TV is to have the proper theatre effect.! And the LG PLASMA 42PQ60, does JUST THAT.
What first took me by surprise was the comparison to LCD. But, the 42inch LG PLASMA compared the the picture quality of a 32".! And when I checked the LCD 40", it was no where near the LG PLASMA 42". But dont forget, this is the PLASMA & LCD comparison and if I hadn't found this LG Plasma at THIS cheap a price, I would have definitely ended up with an LCD, to be honest.!
Coming to the features: 2, 000, 000:1 Contract ratio compared to the 50, 000:1 of LCD0.001 sec Response time compared to the 4/5 sec of LCDNow, I'm no expert, but I know what I see as a graphix designer and I can tell u, that this LG PLASMA TV does NOT disappoint you.!
In THIS PRICE, underlined, there isn't another TV which you can watch Movies from the USB directly. The others only offer, picture and music view off USB! I was THRILLED WITH THIS since I need to check the quality of the corporate movies I make and I was tired of writing formats and formats on DVD's and having to play it off the DVD player. This just speeds up the process.
The sound quality is good as compared to the other TV brands and I didn't even need to attach my home theatre to get a decent effect! LG over all beat most other brands in sound!
The design, elegance and suave look gives the TV a whole new feel. The power button on the side, is such a simple and non complicated button.
Plasma TV's generally consume more electricity, but this one has an INTELLIGENT sensor which senses the room light intensity and automatically adjusts the picture brightness when kept on Intel Sensor Mode. I actually noticed the TV brighten up when I pulled the curtains! Not only that, it also has 3 modes: - max, medium and min for power consumption.
The remote has a lot of simple functions which help us change the picture and sound quality to presets at a touch of a button. CINEMA - SPORTS - GAME etc. And of course one can manually change picture and sound settings.
To my delight, it comes with a wall mounted stand which can tilt downwards so one can put this up higher on the wall! Not a common thing with other brands!
To conclude, I'm thoroughly satisfied with the product and I FIND excuses to go n watch TV now.!Anyone in 2 minds about LCD vs PLASMA. well I can vouch for this LG PLASMA 42PQ60R for sure.
