When the idea of buying a new TV came to my mind, I was very clear that I want to buy 21" TV of SONY make. With this, I entered Vivek's, 100 ft road, Indiranagar showroom while the store was just about to close. I approached the sales person for the SONY TY, however when I glanced 21FU6RG, I got highly impressed by the outer appearance of this TV due to its glossy cabinet & slim design which imitate a LCD like look & immediately purchased it.


The TV got delivered at my place by next day & when I turned that on I found out that the picture is degaussed at all 4 borders. I immediately lodged a complaint with


LG customer care in which response an extreme rude service technician visited my place to rectify the issue. He kept complaining that the degaussed image is due to incoming signal & not a problem with TV set. Unsatisfied with this I requested the customer care to send another technician who’s better trained & understands the problem well.


After couple of days another technician visited my place & identified that the problem is manufacturing fault & it’s due to faulty yoke & he assured me that I’ll be getting a replacement for my TV set.


After much follow up I got the replacement but unfortunately even the replaced set had the same issue. Again I went through the same cycle of calling customer care & technician visiting my place & even this time the technician confirmed that the problem is due to faulty yoke & he again assured for yet another replacement.


Couple of more days passed by; voila! I got the replacement set & guess what (you guessed it right!). Today I called up the area service manager of LG & he confirmed that there is a manufacturing fault in entire series of 21FU6RG & I’ll be getting a 100% refund of my bill amount. This just shows that how careless LG could be about quality of their products. My sincere advice to everybody is “PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT”.

Kindly find attached scanned copy of the original bill as requested. I'd appreciate if you can help me in getting full refund (INR 10000) for my television set, as you've explained that there is a non correctable manufacturing fault with every TV of Model: 21FU6RG.


I was thinking that being a global brand LG must be very careful about quality of their products, however I am not sure how this series has entered in to market without proper quality checks. Anyway, after struggling for almost 2 months (I lodged the complaint on 20th Dec 2008) I learned a lesson that in future I'd better refrain myself from buying any LG products or recommending LG products to anybody.
