ShahRukh Khan,bless you. While you may have been obsessed with your K-k-k-k-k-k-kiran (sorry Gauri!), it seems that Ekta (or is it Ektaa or something else altogether?) has hit off on you. Well, that's the only logical reason I could think of, when I see Ekta's list of family (melo)dramas. K-k-kahaanii,K-k-kasauti,K-k-aahiin k-k-kissii roz,K-k-kkusum,K-k-k-kahaanii terii merii, to name just some of the innumerable (in)famous ones. Add to it, the serial which is supposed to be better than the all-time great, Buniyaad(!), whose title looks more confusing than my chemistry 'Give Reasons' ... 'Kyunki ... something something!'
Man! I could say one word of the title without puking! It fails my imagination why the entire country seems to be glued to their T.V. sets at 2230 hours ... maybe that's why it is said that this country has no future!
Glycerine! Where would 'Because mom-in-law was once a daughter-in-law' (Wow! Well discovered!) be without glycerine?! Tears. That's all this serial seems to have. A and B love each other. There is some problem forced in. A uses three bottles of glycerine per episode, B makes do with two! That angle has got boring? Ok, kill someone! When the rona-dhona gets over, make him/her alive again! (God, what are you doing? If Ekta can make the dead alive, why on earth can't you?!) Man! My family has never had two gallons of tears, followed by a grand wedding, followed by a death, followed by a dead man rising! Oh, I forgot. It is not the story of every home (Kahanii Ghar Ghar Ki). Thankfully! But, that's a different story altogether.
If you want me to describe the plot, I apologise. Luckily, I don't have to endure this torture every day, and the days I'm forced to see it as I don't have any control over the remote, I fail to recognize the plot. Maybe the plot is top secret! But then, KSBKBT should have been an espionage thriller, not a family (melo)drama!
Moving on to the cast, the tolerable ones are Sumeet Sachdev (Gautam Virani aka Gomsy), Ronit Roy (the latest Mihir Virani) and the girl who plays the role of Twisha Virani (am not sure of her name). They all are rather good, infact. Sumeet looks a hybrid of Shammi Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan, and that's certainly not a bad combo! He acts well as well as his acting is usually quite subtle, unlike most of the others. Ronit Roy is a talented actor, who after playing the sophisticated billionare, Rishabh Bajaj in another K-k-k-k...., is now the third Mihir Virani. The girl who plays Twisha looks cute, and makes a fair attempt at acting. But,beware! There is something scary coming up ... Bhoot hain yahan koi! Smriti Malhotra Irani, who plays Tulsi, is considered to be the best actress on the small screen. Even God might not know why! Agreed, she acted well for quite a bit of the serial, but now, she is merely intent on theaterically throwing about her hands and delivering her dialogues the way they might be doing in Shakespeare's time! A talented actress has been wasted due to her engaging in sheer melodrama ...
What I fail to fathom is why I wasted half an hour on writing a review for 'Kyunki ... Pata Nahin Kyun'. Thank me, guys, though. Atleast, I've warned you!
