''Kyunki saans bhi kabhi bahu thi'' has truly been, in a number of ways, a remarkable serial. It has propelled the popularity of Star Plus to dizzying heights. It is loved by millions, and hated by millions. What makes this programme so special ?
''Kyunki....'' has been successful by playing on the emotions of the Indian audience. It depicts the life of an ideal joint family, a scenario which many indians yearn for. This is the reason for its success.
Besides this there are some plus points about it which makes it stand apart from most of the other programmes of its kind,i.e, ones by Balaji Telefilms. The story of this serial, is to a certain extent ''believable'' (though the dialogues seem more like a recitation of the Gita). You do not find murders and most of the characters have married only once. The other serials are so very pathetic in this respect.
It would have been good if this serial, which has continued for 3 years, is given a dignified ending. But its like the proverbial hen that lays golden eggs. Ekta Kapoor surely won't like to kill it. So it streches on, like a rubber band, and loses following every day.
