BOND WITH CUTE DOLLIE SURI!. Review on Kyun Hota Hai Pyar

This one's not about KYUN HOTA HAI PYAR, its just that I couldn't find any forrum for my fresh product, HELLO DOLLIE!So please RRC my review inspite of that....

With every new show that Star Plus adds to its platter, the format seems to be veering evermore towards an urban and contemporary look and feel. Hello Dollie , the latest offering for the young and restless from Hindi entertainment television's lead channel, is no different.

After more than two years ensconced in the 7:30 pm slot, UTV's Shaka laka boom boom is coming to an end and makes way for Hello Dollie, which debuts 25 October and will air Mondays through to Thursdays.

Interestingly, this show, which is slotted at a band where the programming has been targeted at kids, addresses the early teens. And I found this amazing piece of information from the internet, that chronologises the entire meaning of introducing this new show!

With Shaka laka boom boom, the TG that tuned in did not progress to Dekho Magar Pyaar se, which is a romantic tale. But, with the slightly older age group of kids tuning in to Hello Dollie, there will be a natural progression to DMPS at 8 pm and then to a Kasautii Zindagii Kay (KZK) more mature love story at 8:30 pm. Also, behavioral patterns of viewers show that younger kids usually go with what the older one's watch but the reverse does not apply. Hence with Hello Dollie, Star Plus not only hopes to sustain its current viewership but also expand it in this particular band as well as the adjacent ones.

Produced by the makers of Hatim (Sagar Group), Hello Dollie comes from the third generation of Sagars, which tells a story of an average teenager going through the agony of puberty dealing with frumpy hair and pimples. Having grown up in a sheltered, single parent environment for 15 years, this adolescent is taken by surprise when she finds out that that she's a real life princess.

Dollie Suri, is a plain jane, with frumpy hair and thinks she's a social embarrassment. The reason is pretty obvious as Dollie is the queen of clumsiness. She fumbles over words, stones, lampposts and people. For the last fifteen years of her life Dollie has lived in a protected nuclear family environment and has no idea that her father who is dead was actually the late king,Maharaja Jaikishen. (now I wish THAT happened everyday!)

She is also in love with the cutest guy in school, Nikshay Rana except that he doesn't know she exists.(and THIS happens everyday!)

Nikshay is total stud boy, worships Tom Cruise, maintains a Samurai haircut and looks at anything that reflects, mirrors, dashboards, spoons...anything!

He is self-obsessed to the core, and is also the Star Cricket player of the school.. Dollie's goal is to survive each school day with a minimum of attention and embarrassment. Unfortunately, her wish to be invisible is thwarted when her strict grandmother arrives with aplomb and delivers the shocking news that she's a real life heir to a billion dollar fortune!

So that was all about HELLO DOLLIE, and believe me guys, I have not really been dissapointed! I mean, you will actually laugh with some of the scenes or dialogues with a nostalgic touch! Some of those incidents might have actually happened to u at your 10th standard maybe! I am disclosing this....actually it is an open secret....something very cliched....there was this guy in my school, a senior, when I was in mid 9th, and I had this huuuge crush on him....to finally find out that he had proposed a friend of mine!

Was I embarassed, hurt, angry...or all the three, I don't know! But I remained down to the dumps for a long time!

So guys, dollie suri goes through all that, and still smiles! Still tries to be normal. And isn't THAT a slice of life? U bet! Plus...she's really cute too!

I would reccomend this one especially to the female audience, though the males would enjoy it as well! So go watch it...this one's not bad at all....the only question is...lets see how long it can sustain this appeal! Will it be another HIP HIP HURRAY? Or just fizzle off as another school-crush-friends junkie?

PS: And about that senior I had had a crush on...well I regret it, coz now he has become all gross...both to look at and talk to! So I guess, I am the lucky one! What do u know...sometimes the good girls do win!
