''Hmmmm...She looked better with Salman..and she seems to have gained weight'' my wifes first comment on seeing the lovetruck jodi/i> of AISHWARYA & VIVEK, while gulping down the remains of her Diet Cola..30 minutes down the movie..the guy munching away his popcorns quipped..
''Abbey Amitabh kab aayega''1 Hour down the movie..I wonder wonder aloud '' Ye kya ho raaha hai''.
Yes with a starcast like Good Old Amitabh,the love bird jodi of Aishwayra & Vivek,Om Puri ,Tinnu Anand,Rati Aghinotri,Suniel Shetty & Diya Mirza and the music by Shankar Ehsaan Loy we were expecting a blast but unfortunately the movie meanders around the age old subject of ''LOVE'' in a very traditional manner.
Our Hero, Mr Arjuns(VIVEK OBEROI) dictionary is bereft of the words ''pyaar'' & ''Haar'' even though none of his actions back up his theory.Our dear heroine ,Diya(AISHWARYA RAI) is diehard love fan and will only marry when the love bug bites.MAINE PYAAR KIYA is replayed in the first half and the heroine lands up in the heros house to give an exam.Yeah hero & heroines father s are old friends and not to miss TINNU ANNAD is playing AISHWARYAS father in the movie,a little hard to believe.Couple of reels down the movie the Diya is head over heals in love with our playful hero who is himself not very sure of his feelings.
Movie is approaching the interval and the public is getting restless.Raj Chauhan(AMITABH BACHHAN) enters the movie to play the CUPID and set things right i.e get a confession from the loverboy.To assist him in the herculean task SUNIEL SHETTY & a gang of orpahn kids pitch in their efforts and after an obvious twist which was too easily predictable ,our playful hero mouths those three oft spoken words and the curtains are down!
SHANKAR EHSAAN LOYhave done a decent job and ''Aao Na'' is most romantic number of the movie.Though some of the songs are ''inspired'' from Michael Jackson & Maddona the music is okay and I don't think 6 months down the line anyone would be interested in rewinding the music of KHGN.
The director SAMIR NAIK also makes an appearence in the movie (ahh..that reminds you of our good ole Subhash).
Samir Naik has been ''inspired'' from couple of latest hindi movies and has tried to add some elements of all unfortunately the pace of the movie is dull and the theme is just too hackneyed.Actors like Om Puri & Amitabh were grossly undertapped.The final product is just average.I guess SAMIR wanted to make an all out family entertainer but these days the audience is smart and values intelligent entertainment.
