Specially for campus! . Review on Kunchacko Boban

I am able to write this review only because of the series of strikes coming up and the number of holidays we get. Monday, due to the arrest and Wednesday due to the petrol price hike, harthal is there and the indefinite bus strike and lots more are to come. It seems that I am about to get even longer holidays than Onam.....

LOVER BOY?

Kunchako Boban who had been the ''lover boy'' of the Malayalam movies for a long time by acting in a series of love stories ''Aniyathi Pravu'', ''Niram'', ''Nakshatra Thaaraattu'', ''Mazhavillu'', ''Prem Poojari'' etc and winning a lots of applause as well as the hearts of many youngsters.

He did seem to have a special skill in doing romantic movies from the way he acted in them. The best thing was that each and every one of these movies had melodious songs to attract the campus.

He completed his twenty fifth movie in ''Mullavalliyum Thenmaavum'' which could only create a musical impact. Another one ''Jalolsavam'' was nowhere to be seen. He had tried to change the lover boy image by acting in the serious movies like ''Narendran Makan Jayaakaantan Vaka'' and ''Puthooram Veetil Unniyaarcha'', but both failed to create any impact in the theatres.

In his upcoming movie ''Junior Senior'', Boban co-stars with Mukesh, the senior actor and Meenakshi. ''Hrudayathil Sookshikkaan'' is another movie of him and this time he is starring opposite to Bhavana. It is the movie I am looking forward for watching. Another one is ''Mayamohitachandran'' with Renuka Menon.

If one or more of these movies manage to click at the box office, he can re-create the image he had earlier. As superstars fails to do the job they are supposed to do - thus disappointing the viewers, and the new comers does all the over acting to make the audience sick, the opportunity lays in front of him and it all depends on what the people's taste is.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Even with only a few number of hits, Kuchako Boban's career was entirely different from each and every actor.....

1) ANIYATHI PRAVU

This movie had been one of those few family movies released. It depicts the feelings of a boy and a girl caught in between love for each other along with the love to their families. They have to sacrifice on of these two move on. What will they sacrifice? Their love or the families? Kunchako Boban's debut movie was the best ever in his career.

Along with Shalini, he did a fantastic job as the ''lover boy'' as he was able to show each expression of from the burning heart with no flaws. Right from seeing the girl and towards saying that he loves her had been some magical moments from him. He surely was the right choice and thanks to the makers of this movie for giving us such a talented actor.

2) NIRAM

Just as the name says, this one is a colourful movie inside and outside the college campus. It depicts how a boy and girl fails to realise the amount of love they had for each other and they finally realises it very late, but will it affect their future? This is all the movie is about.

A fantastic movie with once again Kunchako Boban and Shalini. Both have repeated their performance in Aniyathi Pravu and Kunchako have done a great job again. With all the great songs in it, this movie was to be a hit and it was.

3) DOSTH

Just as the name suggests, this movie on friendship and love is what the movie is about. Kunchako and Dileep plays two friends. When Kunchako falls in love with a girl - when he finds that it is Dileep's sister, he decides to leave her as he was afraid that their friendship will break.

Kunchako once again comes with nice emotional skills in this remarkable movie. He plays the passionate lover and a true friend at the same time, making another campus movie a success. Kavya Madhavan plays the leading actress and does well too as so does Dileep.

There were lots of good movies of Kunchako which couldn't be hits - ''Chandamama'' was one of them - it had good comedy, but thinking logically, it had lots of flaws. Same was the case of ''Snehithan'' which had a story line touching nowhere. After a long break, he became popular again with the movie ''Swapnakoodu'' after some flops.

The movies like ''Mazhavillu'' and Nakshatra Thaaraatu'' were full of romance and sentiments, but they lacked some good story line. ''Prem Poojari'' and ''Mullavallium Tenmaavum'' too were not much different. Lets hope that he will be more careful when choosing the movies to act. especially as there ae large numbers of actors in Malayalam movies and he has to work hard to be in the race.....
