I am always a good sea food lover.Was always keen to find a good sea food restaurant in Bangalore. last time I visited spice curry(indiranagar) but was not impressed with the quality. yesterday I read a review of kubay restaurant , koramangla in MS, so without delay I wanted to taste the food there.
The restaurant is located at 6th cross koramanla, just beside "Bhojohori Manna"(bengali restaurant) and coast to coast.the place is not impressive from outside and u might give it a miss. inside also there is a bare minimal decoration , the place is small.. for about 30-35 people . the place has an added old feeling to it(which is not very classy) . seating was comfortable. the waiter came and gave menu card (which was already in their website and with prices mentioned.... I liked it) .the person who took order was very patient and suggestive.initially we ordered crab curry and fish biriyani but he suggested crab sukka will go better with biriyani. my friend wanted to have simple chicken biriyani (but why in a sea food restaurant ....women!!!!) and I ordered a pork vindaloo (which is a specialty of Goa and I love it) and kokam water. the person finished taking order with a smile.
The order came within 15 min(wow). portion sizes were medium and enough for a person. kokam water was briliant (with honey) I had that after a long time. biriyani was a surprise. I have no high expectation about biriyani , but the biriyani they served was made with goan rice(thik one) with a sea food masala taste. we liked it.next was pork vindaloo which could have been a bit more sour.but the meat was tendor and lovely and the consistency of the curry was good. fish biriyani was even better than chicken biriyani and the best of the lot was crab.a mediam sizes one, perfectly cooked, the masala along with it was ok type but the crab was cooked to perfection without loosing the sweetness and tenderness of the meat.
the waiter came in between and asked about the food, and whether we have come to this place for the first time .we got a bill of 600 Rs which is very reasonable (chicken biriyani 110, fish biriyani 135, pork vindaloo 140, crab sukka 180). overall I loved the food and service.i can recommend this place to my friends.
