Movie: Krrish (Hindi)

Cast: Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra,Rekha, Naseerudin Shah, Punit Isar

Music: Rajesh Roshan

Director: Rakesh Roshan

Production: Filmkraft

Synopsis:

This movie starts off from where "Koi Mil Gaya" ended. Krishna (Hrithik Roshan) is born to Rohit and Sonia (the characters from Koi Mil Gaya played by Hrithik and Preity Zinta). Krishna possesses supernatural powers which he attained from his father by birth (these powers were given to his father by the Jaddoo that you saw in Koi Mil Gaya). He is super intelligent, and possesses powers that no ordinary human can ever dream of possessing. He lives with grandma Rekha who with him, lives in a village fearing that when the world comes to know abt his powers, it will prove fatal for him.

Enters Priyanka Chopra who comes to the village with a group of people for a camp. Hrithik falls in love with her. Priyanka lives in Singapore and cheats Hrithik that she is in love with him and thereby brings him to singapore so that his powers gets noticed by the world. But Rekha doesnt allow him to go to Singapore. When questioned why, she reveals a flashback.

Rohit (Hrithik Roshan, who is Krishna's dad) is called to Singapore to build a computer for Nasserudin Shah who is the owner of a IT company and who wants Rohit to build a computer that can predict the future to the minutest detail. Rohit succeeds in it but people come to know that Rohit is dead.

Krishna comes to Singapore and comes to know that Priyanka has cheated him. But Sharat Saxena, who works for Nasserudin Shah, reveals some shocking truths abt rohit's dad that makes Krrish (Krishna) not to go back and how he succeeds in taking revenge on those who spoiled his dad's life is what the film is all about!

Review:

One of the finest entertainers ever to grace Bollywood screens. The movie starts off well, though some might say the first half is a little bit boring. The first half is filled with lot of usual hindi movie scenes.. but once the second half arrives, the film gathers momentum. The final 40-45 mins of the film is spine chilling, spell bounding AND is going to prove to be the pivotal point from which this film will become a huge BLOCKBUSTER! The final sequences pack a punch and you will probably want to come back to watch the whole movie just because of the last 30-40 minutes.

The performances are exemplary. Hrithik Roshan is the soul, heart and everything of the film. He performs his role to such perfection, that I am afraid Shahrukh and Aamir (Fanaa) wont stand a chance of winning the award from under Hrithik's nose. The way he acts when he comes as Krrish's father (Rohit) deserves lot of praise! I have always been obsessed with Shahrukh Khan, but these days other actors are also proving to be excellent. I have always tried to underplay my liking for Hrithik (may be coz of SRK). But to say that he has done superbly is an understatement. Hrithik with Rakesh Roshan is a dream combination and will in future, be the most wanted combination in Bollywood!

Nasseruddin Shah comes next, with his super cool villian act. The way he recites the happenings in a news presentation style is commendable. Many people say he is a great actor, but I havent watched him much. Here he impresses a lot!

Priyanka is the usual heroine, which she does with aplomb. She needs to improve on her acting skills but she is perfectly fit for the glamorous Bollywood heroine. Rekha is effective and good. She does well when she narrates the flashback to Krishna (Hrithik Jr). Others do their part pretty well. Preity Zinta comes for a few seconds and you will miss her if you are not glued.

Music by Rajesh roshan goes largely unnoticed because of the film which grabs a huge chunk of the attention. But the songs fit the movie so well. Though you might not have liked "Koi Tumsa Nahin" before release, you will take this song back home after the film.

The technical part of this film is what is the hero. Stunts are of world class standards. The special effects and the costumes too match up with it.

There are some flaws also in this movie. Since this is a commercial movie with fantasy stuff, logic goes for a big toss. The way it is shown that Rohit Mehra (Hrithik) builds a computer that can see the future (i.e. even see the video of what will happen in the future) is unbearable. If one can see his/her own future and change it, what is the excitement in living a life? Rakesh Roshan's imagination runs a little too wild in this aspect!

But Roshan Sr maintains his blockbuster status. This guy doesnt let up and keeps giving us classic entertainers that we will always remember. And the Rakesh-Hrithik-Rajesh combination has spelled success and will always keep spelling SUCCESS!

One thing is sure - people who love this movie, will surely go back and watch the prequel "Koi Mil Gaya". Or at least, thats what I did. After watching this film, I immediately came back and rented the DVD of Koi Mil Gaya and watched it all over again and enjoyed the whole film.

I wish there is another sequel to Krrish. This whole series of movies is just AMAZING!
