Let’s begin by saying that happy days are here again! Frankly, any movie released in April and May were complete bores, so it is refreshing that June came with a bang, and July are upon us. If a few weeks ago, we had some interesting flicks like Fanaa ,PHP and Chup Chup Ke, this week marks the anticipated flick, Krrish.I never was a real Rakesh Roshan fan, but his 2003 film Koi Mil Gaya proved he knew how to get a talented cast and show off some style with substance on the screen. So Krrish is the sequel to that film .Does it live up to the expectations?

Yes, its one big thrill ride. I was ecstatic to see my favorite actor Hrithik finally star with my fav actress Priyanka Chopra because they are both versatile in their acting .So what’s Krrish all about?

Krishna Mehra (Hritik Roshan) son of Rohit Mehra, who has special powers like his dad but her grand mother does not want the world to see Krishna’s special powers, she did not want her grand son to die like his son and daughter in law. .Then, Priya (Priyanka Chopra) enters the movie, Krishna falls in love with Priya, .Finally Priya leaves for her hometown Singapore. She works there as news reporter and he reaches there when Priya calls him in there to meet her mom for the marriage proposal, but the real reason for calling him is, to save her job.

Krishna does some good human being job in Singapore and becomes Krrish , now here comes Dr. Arya in the picture, the person who had hired Rohit Mehra to make a computer which can predict the future but Rohit dies in an accident and his dream to make that computer also dies. But he still manages to develop a computer with the research work of Rohit.....

Its best if I don’t reveal anymore, because I do not want to ruin the fun that awaits you if you are planning to see the movie . Yes, it might have some shades of the Hollywood flick Super man, but its slick, fast-paced, and thoroughly entertaining.

On to the performances...

With Lakshay, Hrithik shows he can act. He is truly one of the most underrated actors in Bollywood. His look and overall characterization of Krishna is one of the best roles he’s had

Krrish would be incomplete without Priyanka. She makes the film move forward, just when the pace is about to slow down. Her role is not as big as I imagined, but good altogether.

The supporting cast is competent in their roles. Rakesh Roshan excels in developing his characters and letting them getting into the actual role, without restrictions.

Music by Rajesh Roshan is fantastic, with dil na and koi tumsa being the pick of the lot. He deserves nominations for this album.

Action sequences were also thrilling. It cannot be denied that the film has some flaws; at some intervals, the film got a little bit slow, but Naseer came in with a punch to save the film. Also, some people may not understand the plot twists and how can one man be so powerful , but that’s the irony of Krrish’s character.

Overall, give this film a chance because lets face it, 2006 has not been the best year for films, yet Krrish can be added to the list of good films where the filmmaker took his time to bring an interesting tale to the big screen. Enjoy!
