Finally a Bollywood super hero is here!We have all at some point read the comics, watched the cartoons and seen the movies related to them. This time however there is a Bollywood budget to back this Marvel story. When it comes to such super heroes tale, you just know that the result will go one of two ways. Its either going to result in a box office hit that Or it will go the other way and the result will be dire .So does Krrish meet the expectations that one had? Is it as entertaining as one would have expected from this flick? Well the answer to both these questions is - Yes, but partly.

A little more linear narrative for this story would have only helped the caused. Still, it has to be agreed that the effort is praiseworthy and the movie never fails to engross you throughout its duration .

Story

Krishna aka Krrish [Hrithik Roshan] grows up as a typical Indian boy, but he has amazing strength and stamina, ability to fly, and the other special abilities that mark him as extraordinary persona. Krishna, has inherited these supernatural powers from his father Rohit. His Grandmother Rekha is scared when she realizes that Krishna possesses supernatural powers. She had lost her son as people exploited him because of his special powers. So she takes Krishna to the mountains to protect him from the world. Later he grows up in the mountains all alone without any friends because people couldn't cope up with his skills and agility.

One day a group of guys and girls come from the city on a mountaineering expedition. This is Krishna’s first interaction with the outside world. Priyanka is part of the group.Hrithik saves her from face of death and that's how they meet each other. So she realizes that he has unique powers and calls him there to Singapore to exploit his talent.

Very innocently Hrithik follows her to Singapore believing that she loves him and also promises his grandmother that he would not use his powers or reveal to the world that he has supernatural powers. Later when he goes to Singapore he finds himself in a difficult situation when he realizes the evil plans of Dr. Siddarth Arya (Naseerudin shah). So he has no other choice but to use his powers to save the world.

As he had promised his grandmother he wouldn't reveal his identity or his powers he uses a mask and from krishna he becomes krrish, a superhero!

Rakesh Roshan comes up with a good storyline and executes it well inspite of krrish being difficult venture. He deserves to get accolades for his handling of the subject. He knows clearly in his mind what he has set out for and never ones tries to be extra smart in his approach. He takes the viewer along with him and while you realize that you are being taken for a ride, you still are happy to leave yourself completely in his hands to manipulate you the way he wishes. First half of the movie is extremely breezy and before you realize what's happening , interval arrives as the high point of the movie. Post interval too, the movie continues at a good pace, albeit with a few ups and downs.

The movie dips a bit at places, especially when it deviates from the plot and starts touching upon Hrithik-Rekha relationship. While one is content with the high speed chases, aerial shots and brisk pace, such emotional angles come as a major distraction. But to the credit of Rakesh Roshan, he brings the story back on track in quick time. And just when everyone feels end would be predictable one, there is a major twist that shocks you, surprises and make you look at the entire movie in awe!

Director Rakesh Roshan makes the best use of the high-end technology and comes with extraordinary camerawork and shot execution .The characterisation of Hrithik is very well done too .In a lot of ways he is like Rohit in Koi... Mil Gaya but in a lot of ways they are at two ends of the spectrum. Both are abnormal -- Rohit was abnormal because he rates really low on the IQ bar, and mentally challenged . Krishna is abnormal because he is beyond the normal .

Rajesh Roshan's music flows well with the narrative of the movie. Fast paced, energetic and foot tapping, each of the tracks have been choreographed well and carry a vibrant look. Pick of the lot is Dil Na Diya .Choreography enlivenes the proceedings in each of the tracks .

Hrithik 's magnetic personality make him an instant fit for the character of super hero. He´s funny, serious and emotional, sometimes all at once and he does it without even a hint of difficulty. The transition he makes from Krishna to Krrish is well handled too, as he initially tries to use his new super-powers before realising that with great power, comes great responsibility .

Priyanka plays her glam woman part quite well .Naseer is amazingly restrained and never makes any conscious effort to steal away a scene whenever he is frame.Prity Zinta has a one scene role and seems to be present in the movie to enhance the face value of FILM.Rekha is quite effective.

This is a movie that should be watched by those who have been craving for something differen' to be fished out in Bollywood. Rakesh Roshan does exactly that and succeeds to a major extent.
