Krrish belongs to that genre of filmmaking that has not been attempted before. With such big stars and with a innovative story and an inept director it could easily have become comical, but full marks to Rakesh Roshan´s flawless screenplay and wonderful direction, it becomes an engrossing tale .

Krishna (Hrithik Roshan) is born with the magic super powers inherited from his father Rohit Mehra (Koi Mil Gaya’s Hrithik). He is sheathed with the extraordinary strength, speed and intelligence. He loves nature a lot – the calmness and the beauty of mountains and the surrounding place where he lives attract him hugely. Priya (Priyanka Chopra) is a ravishing girl from Singapore. She has come to Krrish’s place for camping and trekking. Krrish meets her and starts loving her. He is heart-broken when Priya leaves for Singapore.

His grandmother, Sonia (Rekha) sees his condition that he is feeling very lonely after her, asks him to go to Singapore and woo the girl to take her back. In Singapore, he comes across the megalomaniac scientist, Dr. Siddhant Arya (Naseeruddin Shah), who has destructive dreams to ruin every thing. And only one man can fight him to stop him and he is none other than Krrish.

Krrish is fantasy joyride for the whole family, with a slightly slow first half though livened up by some excellent special effects and a thrill second half. But the lovely song ’Pyaar ki Kahani’ should be edited out as it slows the pace of the movie. Hrithik scenes with Priyanka are wonderful, specially their romantic portions.

As a director Rakesh Roshan is amazing. I think he is amongst Bollywood´s best; however he has never made a great film. This is because of his scripts. Early in his career he made some duds but post Kaho Naa Pyaar Hain his star has been on the rise. And Krrish only cements it further.

The film carries a polished look throughout and has been expertly crafted. Each and every frame looks well-decorated and the songs have been nicely canned. Watch out for Dil Na Diya and Koi Tumsa - both have been superbly cinematographed. Art direction goes well with the film and enhances its overall look. Background score is top notch and boosts the impact.

Rajesh Roshan too plays his part well. The songs are racy, foot-tapping and entertaining to the say the least. Their expert picturization only adds to their effectiveness. My personal favorite is Dil Na. The song not only sounds groovy but is surely the best filmed dance number to come out in a while.

kRRISH is a Hrithik Roshan show all the way. Krrish is a role tailor made for Hrithik and he does it so well that it is hard to imagine anyone playing the super hero than Bollywood’s most dynamic hero himself. His expressions are noteworthy and he intones his voice to his maximum advantage. Priyanka’s role requires her to be sweet and at times, sensuous and she does that with grace. She gets more footage than Prity in KMG and turns in a decent performance.

All up Krrish is by far the most entertaining film of the year. An amazing cast, superlative performances, hilariously devised situations, and SFX at its best, kRRISH is hardcore entertainment of the highest order.
