Rajesh Roshan has put in his best efforts for brother Rakesh Roshan’s movies, but this time the album is comme ci comme ca. A few songs are dazzling while the rest are dull.

Pyar ki ek kahani- Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal recreate their Piyu bole (Parineeta) magic in this childishly innocent love song. The song is a typically Rajesh Roshan number, with all the feet tapping elements in it. This time it is not the omnipresent Sameer but an array of lyricists who bring freshness to the album. This song has been penned by Ibrahim Ashq and he does a great job of it.

Koi Tumsa Nahin- Sonu and Shreya come together again for this number and continue the happy mood of the album. This number resembles the Koi Mil Gaya track at places but has its own identity too. Worth a listen!

The remix is great too. Titled the Big Band Mix, Rajesh has juxtaposed Shreya’s soft vocals against heavy instrumentation to bring about a stunning effect. Can become a dance floor rage.

Chori Chori Chupke Chupke- Nasir Faraaz’s rustic lyrics are aptly tuned by Rajesh to give this Udit-Shreya number mass as well as class appeal. The Gujrati beats in the song are so catchy that you will start humming along midway while listening to the track.

Why are music directors insecure about album sales unless they have an ‘item number’ in the compilation. The mood of the album takes an about turn and melody goes for a toss as Kunal Ganjawala suddenly bursts into the scene with the utterly avoidable Dil Na Diya. He sounds jaded right from the first note. Albeit, a dance number to showcase Hrithik’s exceptional dance talents, it will at the most be remembered for just that and nothing else.

Main Hoon Woh Aasmaan-Rafaqat Ali Khan (son of Ustad Nazaqat Ali Khan), and Alka Yagnik come together for this number. The orchestration is brilliant with Rajesh Roshan combining the sitar and the drums brilliantly. A haunting melody with a minor reference to the Sama Hai Suhana song, this love song has a tinge of sadness in it.

The above track has been remixed by Rajesh himself. Wish he had not. Some songs retain their aesthetic appeal in their original form and should not be tampered with. Yet what is done is done. It is just average in its remix avatar.

Although Krrish is not in league with its predecessors Kaho na… and Koi..Mil Gaya. it is better than the musical fare being dished out nowadays.
