I had heard some good reviews about this movie, so in spite of the fact that this was from the Ekta Kapoor stable (she has a huge stable and a really stinking one as far as the idiot box is concerned), I went ahead and watched this movie. To be fair to her, she is just the producer and the blame should go to the director.

The movie is supposed to be scary. But then it never reaches the levels to scare you. It is loosely based on the movie The Ring, which I had the good fortune of watching last year, and believe me The ring was a lot more scarier, it was in fact a class apart.

The movie goes into the time tested formula of lovers vengeance going into the next birth (Karz, Bees saal baad etc). In essence the movie is about a book and a spook. So whoever reads the book is killed by the spook. Now the spook happens to be a very attractive and good looking girl who has some secrets. What those secrets are and why she goes about the book-readers constitutes the movie. But why the movie is called Krishna Cottage, dont ask me.

It should have as well been called Kahin Ankahin baatein or whatever. There is nothing scary in the movie, except the possessive girlfriends shrieks.

Sohail Khan is average. Although he returns from US after four years back into college. Never figured that out through the movie. Did he take a break from college for a world tour sabbatical. Or were they trying to explain his age to be still in college.

Natasha is terrible. Except when her eyes turn green/yellow in the last few scenes.

Isha Koppikar is the star attraction and has looked good in most of the scenes and acted well too.

Rati Agnihotri looks hot for a tantrik and acts well.

The other two comedian friends were irritating and should have been left out from the final version of the movie. The music is ok. The cinematography is tacky.

What the film lacks is good direction and a tighter plot.

Some irregularities I found were -

Ekta Kapoor lives in two worlds. The TV world and the film world. The TV world has dozens and dozens of relatives a long extended family with chacha, mama, salaa, devar, dadi, grand dadi, etc etc etc whereas in the film world there are no parents, no relatives and the characters live alone in huge mansions.

When Raj Zutshi writes the book and realizes that somethings wrong when people read the book or that funny incidents happen with people associated with the book. Why the hell doesnt he or the Principal simply burn the book. WHy does the Principal go to such extents to put it in the store room instead of just disposing it.

When Natasha gets a message that there is a phone call for her from Nupur and when the dead body crashes on the phone booth, why the hell does she run towards the jungle into the ghost's arms and not back into the college.

If the ghost really had powers of morphing herself into different faces, you can imagine the various permutations and combinations she could have taken to achieve her goals, but then we wouldnt have the movie would we? For example, she could have become Natasha and given the book directly to Sohail, or become Rati Agnihotri and taken these people to their deaths and so on.............

Overall, avoid this movie and if you need some chills go and watch The Ring!
