I visited the kotak Mahindra Bank to open a savings a/c because they give 6% interest rather than 4% like other banks. I filled the form, gave them the required documents and passport size photo and also a cheque of Rs15000 and was assured that my a/c will get opened in two days time, il get the welcome kit on a/c opening and in one week il receive the cheque book by courier. They told me that il be getting a text message for a/c opening. Four days passed but I did not receive any message from the bank. So I called the sales executive who had attended me. He told me it will get active in more two days time. I called him after three days, he gave me the reason that the manager is on holiday so they cannot process it, a/c will get active in three days time.
Just like this every fourth ir fifth day I would call them and they would give some silly reason.
It has been a month and yet my a/c has not been active and my Rs.15000 is blocked with them and they are not even accepting account closure nor are they returning my money.
Worst experience ever with any bank for a savings account.
