Koshy on the intersection of MG road and st. marks road. Its been around since the british were in bangalore. The recipes are probably handed down by the british cooks them selves. It so said that when the Queen of england was in bangalore( I dont know which one, but a long time ago maybe 1900 or so) koshy's was supplying the food.Now as times moved on they opened another section for the sophisticated called Jewel box, have been there twice myself and its okay, service, food good its from the same kitchen.
But the thing in bangalore about going to such sophisticated places is that the crowd is the pretentious type, you know the types (yeah I have a 500 million $ house types) but then again it not that bad compare to Delhi folks. :)Now the other section is where you would want to go, pretty spacious and a high ceiling, friendly waiters. THis section is where your typical banglorean comes and lot of tourists too. you would probably find a lot of journalist and those types and the guys who want to kick back and sit and smoke.
I love the Steaks that you get here infact much better than what you get abroad. I would recommend that you kick back on a sunday afternoon, land there at 12 with your friends and its a perfect place to catch up on. Have a ice tea , then order a vodka large or small, mix it and voila your sundays getting better. The above drink is one of the less known secrets but then if your reading this you will be thanking me when you do order. Here the ambience is not what the building offers but the people around you !!Fish curry rice, egg curry rice, steak, sandwiches all are just amazing here.
