Koi Mil Gaya...is surely a take-off from the Steven Spielberg's ET (ExtraTerrestrial) plus Hrithik Roshan with a 10 year old's mind plus a ravishing Preity Zinta minus the warmed, lovable ET from the original. As the movie is a major hit in India atleast bringing back the much awaited Roshan jadoo back to the Bollywood. Hrithik has certainly done an excellent role of a 10 year old kid. He should have got a pat on his back from his director papa first for that superb performance. He is indeed one of the great actors we have in Bollywood now. His talent has to be utilised appropriately with a good story line a performer role ofcourse.
With the sci-fi edge that has been given to the hindi film industry given by Rakesh Roshan, I have to say he has done it with much elan, mixing indian perspective of it with the special effects like hollywood. Music by Rajesh Roshan is apt. Inn panchhiyon...and 'Jaadoo..Jadu' especially are hummable and leave a good heart warming feel.
With this sci-fi fever catching on, I see a number of remakes happening in the bollywood in the near future. Directors are bound to get hold of sci-fi story ideas and make film mixed with emotional, commercial and some action elements glued to it. I see this as a good welcome change. This had to happen sooner or later. Hindi film industry never saw a decent science-fiction movie in the past barring a few like Mr.India(1987). Next year will see more of science ficiton hindi movies. My prediction and so is yours.
