I know some of you love Karan and the others love coffee.if you do not fit in those two categories; you have no option but.to love me! On a serious note.this review is again a fitted one; and you will know how and why!
Koffee with Karan . a show which is fun filled, informal and looks like one of those meetings you have with close friends not realising that the whole world is watching you. Now I keep having these meetings too.but since I am not Karan and no cameras are watching me.no one comes to know about them…some of you do;-) and I am working my way to a lot more for future!
Introduction: My guest this season is an fauji man. A M2M was sent to me to let me know that I am in your city and would be here for some time. Since I am this friendly soul, I decided to meet the man in person…notwithstanding the hundreds of concerns that were raised by my colleagues and friends. “Do not meet strangers!”…“ He might be one of those men who have a liking for young unmarried girls(!)”.Questions asked and answered…”I knew what I was doing"
Day has come: It was an impromptu decision; friday night fixed and confirmed over phone…each phone call lasted 3 minutes each( the exchange could not take us over 3 min!). No email exchanges and no vows were taken. Plain and simple "Let’s meet over lunch”…was the offer and it was taken…don’t ask who gave and who took…it is not of concern anymore;-) …and we met…on a Red light he spotted me first and I spotted him second! We shook hands and decided to talk straight…the world was not watching us and we had nothing to fear…I looked at him and he looked at me.and we said it.” Where are we having the lunch”… It was “friendship” at first sight;-)
“The rendezvous”: Pizza Hut was the chosen one this time…over the crunchy bites of Pizza, we discussed our respective loves…his family and my food…the waiter did not bother us, assuming the obvious…it was perfect! I mean the Pizza! Talks, gossips and worldy discussions…The ambience, the partcipants and the conversation was typical Karan style.the first step had been taken and there was no looking back now…we had to move on…and we did just that! We parted at the metro station and there were no tears…no soul stirring sighs…just a happy ending to the first step!
The story so far…!
Introduction: My first guest this season is "the" fauji man again. Some of you would have seen the season one and would know of him. If you have’nt, now you would…he is too difficult to ignore! The man was in my city again…and me being the ever friendly soul…decided to meet him again…!” Married man!”.” Again!”…”Why?”…again questions and some answers…”I still know what I am doing!”….no further questions…
Day comes again: This time we planned…it was decided that the lunch would be a free one, near my office and on a Saturday…all terms and conditions set out by me and all of them agreed by him…we met…this time it was the just outside the office…”the same smile, the same warmth”…I was falling in “friendship” all over again…he again looked at me and I looked at him…and we said IT again…” Where are we lunching?”…!
“The rendezvous”: Anand was the chosen one.primarily because it was famous and it served good food…the food was not the best that day and so I would not term the day as “PERFECT”…this time the talks involved a lot more of others…”the famous saint”, “the doc who refuses to cure himself”, ” the frenchie”, ”the first couple” and the “honda girl”…the lunch was over and so was our ability to walk…we decided to take a coffee break( Now do you get the fitness of the review?)
Coffee Break: It was in my own office and it was again a good bargain…nice place(!) and a inexpensive coffee and a talker…read again…a talker…he is good with words and he makes you think…so if you are in the habit of being tongue tied…you are lucky! He would make you one…eventually;-)
Second guest and third guest: This season is one of its kind. We are joined by two other guests through the phone line…”The frenchie from Mumbai” and “Honda girl from Mumbai”….both joined us for a while and were surely jealous…after all it is not everyday when people like me and army man talk to anyone! The mumbai guests were expectedly delighted, overwhelmed and happy and wished us more such meetings in future…”more on this.laterz!
End: The second step was taken…we both now knew we were walking on a tightrope…a lot more expectations and even more demands from the world would make us meet again…and again! The season of meetings continue…!
