I bought a kodak z712 is from gk vale marathally during xmas offer MRP 19, 999/ 50% off I paid 9999/-
as per the broucher they supposed to give me a 1 gb sd card. initially they denied and after lot of speaking the lady in charge made some calls. and gave one. when I took the camera home I realised that neck strap was not there. I called them and the reply was on offer price thats all you get. I felt like I am at majestic national market . still I sent a mail to gk no use.
This camera comes with 3 volts lithium battery ( non rechargeable). it finished very soon I tried with whatever ni mh I had . but it didn't work . went to GK again. they made me to buy Sanyo nimh with charger for 975/ - it gave 10 shots. no clue from GK.
I hit the web lot of R&D I did. the result Z series cameras won't work with ni mh (1.2volts X 2 = 2.4 volts). camera got a cut off voltage of 2.5 volts. fully charged 2 ni mh= 1.4 X 2 = 2.8 volts. hence after few shots voltage drops to 2.5 volts and camera shuts down. Now I found the solution buy uniross lithium ion rechargeable with charger =1500/ in majestic national market bangalore it charges in flat 2 1/2 hrs batt voltage = 3.7 volts it takes quite some time to come down to 2.5 volts till then you can have at least 200 to 300 shots plus video. and GK VALE just did't understand when I went personally and explained.
If any one having this camera please don't try with ni mh. try with UNIROSS CRV3 3.7 VOLTS RECHARGEABLE BATTERY. AND YOU WILL REMEMBER ME. In emergency u can use ni mh with no flash no zoom no Lcd once switched on don't switch off though u get low battery display u can still take couple of shots.
