It becomes obvious for most of us to remember a trip or picnic with their loved ones, cause those are the times you inner self get's more satisfied than any other moments for being with them and when it becomes more of a permanent leaf in a branch of your life tree. And such incident is my travel to Kodaikanal on February 5, 1999 with a wife.

Being a South India and more of a vagabond before marriage trips and journey used kick of my inner self out of my inescapable personal barrier. To be precise, I have see almost of South India twice or three and especially, I have see most of the Tamil Nadu more than any other state. So, I believe enough of my personal life and get on the job what I came here for to write a complete review.

So we start out on a fine Friday night we set out to Kodaikanal and this was my first time I was going to Kodaikanal we did not want to take any chances and we had book for the accommodation in Kodai International a week before from Sharma Travels (we had book for Carlton Hotel for our second trip to Kodai). So we landed up in Kodai (shortened sweet name of Kodaikanal) on Saturday early morning. So because we both husband and wife being both avid travellers, we decide to refreshen ourself and start of immediately and booked for a rented car in the hotel.

The car driver introduced himself and told us that we can take place which are near to the city for the first day, so we drove from the hotel to (I know this is becoming more of a travelogue than a review, if you being bored start reading from below and this review is based on my two visit's to Kodaikanal). Because we both, myself and my wife being nature lover's opted to go in for water falls first and the rest later.

Bear Shoal Falls: An ideal picnic spot, where the water jumps from an height of 30-40 feets height, I heard from the driver that this got the name so, because once bears used to visit the place for water, the was we was a rugged hill path.

Thalaiyar Falls: This is a beautiful falls and is the widest and highest falls, which should be more than 600-750 feet drop.

Pambar Falls: After seeing the falls being a magnificent one, my wife suggested why not get on top to the falls which could be reached from behind Pambar House, so we climb on to the top get revealed to this beautiful falls also called ''Grand Cascade'' being racing down Pambar valley in a zig-zag stream form over a series of rock formations.

Silver Cascade: We both had see this falls while coming Bangalore in the morning, this is the overflowed water of Kodai Lake which leaps from a steepcliff and descend down to a pool beside the Ghat Road.

Kodai Lake: Out of our 4 days stay in Kodaikanal, we had see this lake atleast 4 times. This is one of the main attraction in Kodaikanal. The driver told us that the lake was recreated by the hard work of former District Collector by spending his own money. The famous Carlton Hotel faces this lake, we had stay at this hotel when we got a chance to see Kodai for second time.

Coaker's Walk: This is nothing but a narrow pedestrian path, which reveals you to a spectacular view of plains, The path is created along side the steep slopes of a mountain.

Bryant Park: This is park is situated in the middle of the city and next to the lake. The park has some of the rare species of trees and shrubs. And you have a chances to see variety of roses being grown over here.

Vembadi Peak: Vembadi peak is the second highest peak in Kodai, which leads to you to the top from a steep climb. From the top of the peak you get a beautiful view of a lake, mountain ranges and valleys.

Dolphins Nose: Dolphin nose is yet another beautiful place where you will see beautiful views of plains and steepy rock mountains.

It was obvious for us to think that we had gone for Kodai after our marriage and not on a sight-seeing trip, hence decided to spend our 2 days of our time in Kodai, without much activities, so we had missed to see some of the other wonderful places. One of the best thing to do I would suggest is once you finish all your sight-seeing, I strongly believe you should take a bicycle ride around Kodaikanal which would unfold to you a more fascinating places, natural beauty being surrounded all over Kodaikanal. It is time you pack your bags and ride on to Kodai - a place to get out that mental tension and have a peaceful and wonderful time.
