I went there in 2006, I was able to enjoy the ambience there.I can say it is good value for money and suggest to enjoy your stay there (obviously if you planning for a kodai trip:)).
They have a nice garden, birds, activity room, library and a nice restaurent for guests.I liked the garden there and birds..
I found the KODAI resort affordable. Cottages have two rooms with dining table, bed, TV and other required facilities.
Few points for Kodaikanal. Kodaikanal is near to Madurai and Kanyakumari so you can also plan for other places near to city.
