A Complete Vacation Spoiler. Review on Kodai Resort Hotel, Kodaikanal

It was our much-awaited Kodaikanal trip as this I had planned for a special occasion.

Though Kodaikanal was a good place but I believe my choice of hotel was pathetic. We have booked room in ‘Kodai Resort Hotel’, which is location, and view wise was good (its very close to Coaker's Walk). But let me tell you they have the worst ‘Room Service’ I really mind it. I have never seen or have got such a pathetic room service in my life.

We checked-in around 2 PM and there were no drinking water in the room, there was a Tea maker but no sugar, tea or milk sachet was there. All table had a glass, which was broken from many sides. Now there is a interesting part here If you need water you have to call 1 extension and if you need tea and sugar packets then there is another extension and again if you need someone to fix the broken glass stuff then aha! You got it right, need to dial another number (there is no co-ordination between their staffs).

But story is not yet over here, finally after struggling and calling to all those extensions, we finally ordered the food. Food was of good quality but they take almost an hour regardless what ever you order, either dinner or just cold drinks… funny isn’t?

So we finished food and then 1 waiter came to collect the empty plates and other stuffs, now he won’t clean the table and you need to call on one more extension to get that done (he won’t either inform the housekeeping guys), and there will 2-3 waiter will keep coming to collect or check if anything is there to take back, so forget your privacy or some close and sweet moments with your love one. So trust me our most of the time went in finding and dialing the numbers for each services (generally you have to call one number and they internally coordinate and get things done, but that is not the case with ‘Kodai Resort Hotel’).

Now being a good star hotel and in Hill station one expect good service, at least I do expect.

Later, we wanted some ice cream in the evening hours around 6 PM we called to the number and they said no sir this time we can’t give the ice cream, as we are busy with the Dinner preparations, all right. So waited till 9 to order for Dinner and they said it’s a Buffet today so Dinner can’t be served at room…. Ah! It was a pain dear reader (finally after much of argument they did served at room).

Now about the hotel - Good room, good view but rooms are neither having AC nor the Fan and the moment you open the room window ‘flies’ will welcome you.

And if you think to complaint about their service to their front office or to manager – no use.
