Writing a review about the HEALTH HAZARDS of soft drinks and using a an adline from a popular soft drink? Seems a little ironical but the idea was to show how they use advertising to influnce us.

Soft drinks as we know today are around for a hundred years and started with Coke and followed by others. The market world wide is worth Billions of Dollars and thus the empire of these companies is willing to do anything to protect their secret formulas.

Does any body knows what are the things going into a bottle of Soft drinks? When every single product being marketed in packaged form need to have following:

1. Date of Manufacturing

   
   




2. Best before date

   
   




3. Contents

   
   

How come soft drinks don't have these, even if they have this information printed somewhere it is hard to find and read, All in the name of secret mumbo jumbo formula of the MNCs.

Let me give you a little bit of history in the early 20th century a lot of hue and cry was there in USA for the health hazards of Soft drinks some of the allegations were:

1. They slowly reduce the bone density of a person leading to Osteoporosis( a bone degenration disease)

3. Increase in weight( they are nothing but junk Calories)

   
   




4. Addictive

   
   

But the empire of these Soft drink giants was so strong even in those days that all these protests were killed in clandestine manners.

Here are some other facts:

The trucks carrying the concentrate for Coke and Pepsi have to carry this line of caution on them  in USA HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS KEEP DISTANCE yess sir HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS the stuff which is diluted and used to make your favorite cold drink.

It is common practice amongst truck drives and auto mechanics to USE Coke to clean the rusted contacts of automobile batteries( the acid in them cleans the rust)

If this acid can destroy the rust just imagine what it will do to your stomach.

Don't believe me try this at home: Take an old one rupee coin the kind which has become dirty by use and put it in a glass of Coke and then cover the glass and see it after 2 days.Chances are the coin would have become brand new( if it is still there and the acid has not destroyed it completely.

So besides consuming useless calories and gaining weight you are consuming a lot of harmful chemicals which we are not even aware what they are.

So avoid these drinks and stick to good old Indian Drinks like Nimbu Panee, Nariyal Panee and Lassi etc.
