Couple of days ago I was reading the book called "Givinig " by Bill Clinton .the ex-Presdiant of United States.The whole book is all about different charitable organisation that are working in the world that had insipred him. I came to unusual organisation and a website called Kiva through this book.
The website is by itself a group of people who work as a team all over the world . They also have MOU with other charitable organisation in different Asian and African countries. The whole idea is to divert some financial help from those who can help to those who want .But its for not complete charity .. you do get your money back , and not just that you help those who have to specify what they are going to do with that amount .
The website team picks individuals who need assistance for say starting a new business in Afganistan . The website provides the photo of the person who needs it and the amount needed .Those interested like us who surf this website if we feel interested would lend them from an amount of 25$ or more to one or more people at a time through Paypal services.When we Lend this money we are also informed when we get our money back , depending on the time the person returns but he has a time limit also to return our investment . The money can either be taken back or reinvested again.
I liked this whole idea as I know many of us do wanted to give but not sure whether it really would be used in a proper way or not .The part which I get a little disturb is you have to pay in dollars ... I hope we could also donate in rupees .. and second one is do not search for any Indian's on the website as not a single charitable organisation from India has tied up with this website ....so no field workers ...
Friends we donate for festivals , we give rich presents on our better half's birthday .. do not u think this might be also a good present for us to invest .. it on making other people's life happy. A Small gift of love.....
