Story:

One can run from the world and its million faces. To run away from your own soul? Well thats an impossible journey. Khalid Hosseni's The Kite Runner takes you to a different level all together. The Afghanistan we know today is predominated by terms like bad, bloodbath, anger, malice and injustice. Welcome to the Afghanistan that once belonged to Khalid Hosseni.

The land of order and pride. The land of hospitality. And most importantly the land of Amir and his household servant Hassan. The formative plot of the story is the childhood days of these two kids and how one night and one terrifying experience changes their lives forever. What surprised me as a reader was that the whole episode sees Hassan the servant getting tortured, but it is Amir, the son of his master who plays a passive spectator in this whole event, who bears the suffering and guilt of that incident for years to come.

Unsaid words, sharp indications of the world finally winning at the end of all, goodness lost but still found and one man's redemption that finally brings him back to his own devastated land one day. That's the story of the Kite Runner. My advice to all the readers who run their eyeballs thorough this review- Get a hand on this one. The Kite Runner is a must for every human who is in search of some sort of inner enlightenment, knowledge and those few who are ready to walk on the path that takes you back home.
