Kishore's magic. Review on Kishore Kumar

Kishore is the name of one of the immortal voices of subcontinent. A voice, full of life and energy. The only singer overshadowing the Rafi legend is considered Kishore Kumar. He won eight Filmfare awards for the best singer , more than any other singer in the cinematic history of sub-continent.

His voice had every possible human emotion. His joy or sad songs had got the originality seldom equaled by any other exponent of past or present. His mind-boggling voice raises the pulse rate of anyone listening to him. My own favourite is one of his best songs ever delivered: Mein thak gha hoon, mujhe sone do........     In this song which was pictured on Nasseer-ud-Din Shah, Kishore seems to have the time of his singing life. His voice could travel any distance in the universe with exactness of a smoothly flying bird.

His death has certainly created a gap which can never be filled. Today's singers are earning their living on his style.

Being one of the greatest singer of his genre, nevertheless, he was a great humanbeing too. He is known for his eccentric behaviour but in reality he was a very humble man like other great maestros. This incident stands witness to his character: Once one of his fans praised him so much by saying that he was a better singer than Rafi Sahib. At this applause, Kishore became furious and slapped his fan by saying that he couldn't even imagine a comparison with a legend like Rafi Sahib. While another comment by Muhammed Rafi is on the record when he once said that after looking at Kishore's expertise and performance, I feel my saga is over.
