Fly Kingfisher and I can bet, you will have a tough time liking any of the other domestic carriers. I have flown Mumbai-Goa-Mumbai, Mumbai-Delhi-Mumbai, Mumbai-Nagpur and Mumbai-Kolkata on the King. And
trust me, it has been a truly enjoyable, relaxing and pleasurable experience. I can say that with conviction because I have also flown Indian Airlines, Jet Airways, Jet Lite and other low cost flights like Indigo, Spicejet and Deccan.
I will not discuss the low-cost flights here at all but Indian Airlines and Jet have more than once given me chance to complain. The ground service, in-flight food, in-flight staff etc have many a times given
reason to be dissatisfied and disappointed.
However, with Kingfisher I have almost never had any complaints. Maybe Vijay Mallaya is a strict boss- his staff cater to every little whim of passengers. They take special care when kids are around. My daughter
simply loves Kingfisher. The in-flight crew are the most well-behaved, attentive and eager to please, all the time treating you like royalty. (they are also quite handsome!)
The coach from the terminal to the aircraft is the best amongst the coaches/buses. The air-conditioning in some of the coaches in Jet/ Indian Airlines are defunct. The aircraft looks spacious, the upholstry
is very chic, the uniform of the inflight cabin crew is sexy and many appreciative male glances can vouch for that!
The food is fresh and interesting. Jet/ indian airlines have more than once served stale (I swear and stinking even) and boring food. Kingfisher flights are almost always on time. Once while flying frm
Mumbai to Nagpur the flight was delayed and we were stuck at the lounge for around 3-4 hours.
The ground staff ensured that we got unlimited food, and they booked road travel on reaching Nagpur. There was free drop-home facility etc etc. The in-flight gifts are something we hve always loved. My kid had got a
mini kingfisher airplane the first time we travelled. She has a kingfisher watch, a kingfisher table clock and many other little knicknacks frm Kingfisher. Of course everyone gets a pen, a cute pouch
and ear phones etc.
Jet has had the same goody bad for kids, since the past three years. My six-year-old daughter is bored of the bag with colourpencils, little book etc and doesn't want to travel Jet anymore. I have always travelled economy and have always wondered 'if this is what I get in economy class, I wonder what all Kingfisher does, for the first
class travellers...'
Happy flying with the King!
