Story:

There are very few readers in the world who wouldn't have heard of Daniel Defoe, the acclaimed writer of Robinson Crusoe. Daniel Defoe wrote this book in 1719.

This book is about the adventures of a pirate, whose only fetish was jewels. He was a far cry from other pirates, he wasn't anything like the other murderous evil pirates. Captain Henry Avery is accused of some evil acts and he narrates his real story to exonerate himself from all those false charges.

The book offers a new perspective and puts a new light on the life of the pirates. It gets a bit slow at times but the pace gets better. Defoe's writing makes this pirate's life story compelling and interesting. Overall it is a nice book, nothing like the other pirate books. This one is a more realistic version.
