I have watched King Kong a 2 days ago and tried looking it up here - thank goodness I can give an insight now. I guess I am only writing a review so I am not mandated to give a long tale of overview. I'll just type in what I feel about the movie.

The title ''King Kong'' wasn't at all appealing to me. All it made me think about was a gorilla who was a thousand more than its normal size who went to wreak havoc at New York, not to mention his show on the Empire State building. If I hadn't seen The Making of King Kong and sat with awe on one of our kitchen chairs with all the dinosaurs and Naomi Watts, I wouldn't have dared watch it.

When I did watch it, I left the theater not in the slightest thinking of how much it took me to be inside. I didn't have regrets watching it. The movie was worth the 65 pesos I had to spend. The effects were amazing, superb and real-looking. Because I saw a part of how they made it, finding their studio full of blue walls, I was overwhelmed by how wisely and creatively were they able to use technology to bring King Kong to life. Even the dinosaurs were perfect, I could almost think they must have really seen real dino's because of the well-detailed ''creatures''. The centipedes and everything were all icky and slimy and disgusting and gross - just they way they are in real life.

From the beginning, you could think that you were brought back in time with its overall classic theme. From backgrounds to scores to props to setting, it appears to have been filmed a few decades back if not for our awareness of the miracles of technology.

It was a story that showed how incompassionate humans can be when they are in the threshold of wealth and fame. The acting of the antagonist was really convincing until the end, I could throw my popcorn at his face if he wasn't fiction. Alright, maybe I am pro-life and animal lover that's why I am saying these views, but I liked how candid the film was about this truth. Humans can just be so blind sometimes, and a few times their mistakes could have lasting effects...no wonder we have this kind of world now.

Ann Darrow (Naomi Watts) was one of the most beautiful faces I have seen so far. I do not really appreciate blond beauty but she was apparently one of a kind and she was a special kind of something. The film added to what she has, in a sense. I liked the way she brought back good old classics by the way she portrayed herself, how she moved and talked, and how she expertly imitated the way actresses a few decades ago would act in front of the camera: too modest looking, too disciplined, too feminine, too gentle, and too fluid. She was natural. No wonder Kong fell for her..hehehe

The casting of the major characters were no doubt done with real care, although the supporting roles were filled by not really good actors.

The plot was simple but it all made sense. This is one of those movies which did not have to put too much effort on plot to bring to the audience into the film. Because it didn't have too much of a complication, the viewers could put attention to the message of the story since they didn't have to tangle themselves into the understanding of the sequences. It's like that of the romantic-comedy types where you only find yourself laughing through the jokes and awaiting for what'll the climax be like.

If you are too keen, you could see the real story behind the simple plot.
