I have just become a proud owner of the new best scooter in India - the Kinetic SYM Flyte.
While deciding which scooter to buy, I checked out all options in the market as I believe that a scooter purchase decision is an important one. After all, the scooter will be my companion for the next few years. In fact, it will almost be my lifeline as it will take me to college, tuitions, hang-outs, rides to sinhagad fort with friends etc. so I looked at the pep, the pleasure, activa, dio, nova, 4s and flyte. I inspected their looks, learnt their features, took test rides and read reviews in magazines and online.
After this study (I am quite proud of having done good market research), my choice was very clear to me - it was the flyte all the way! First of all, Flyte is the best looking of all the scooters. well finished product, you can see the high quality of everything. Yet it is not radically different looking. It is like an elegant yet gentle statement. I liked that, colors are good too.
Then I liked Flyte features which are unique and convenient and make you ask: why dont other scooters have this? Some of them are: front fueling so u dont have to get off the scooter to fill petrol; central locking (4 in 1 antitheft magnetic key), big storage underseat with lighting, front mobile chargepoint, mirrors with folding on impact and some more.
But finally what impressed me most was the test ride.
I sat on the Flyte and the ergonomics felt perfect. Just right. Seating posture felt good, and overall I was comfortable. I checked out the pillion seat too and it is fine.
the starting was easy and troublefree , I tried 5-6 times and ev ery time it started with feathertouch. I am told that it is because of a big battery and also a technology called Secondary Air Injection.
during the ride, the engine felt very smooth and refined and quiet, even on slopes. It has adequate power to take me, my plump friend and a whole lot of stuff up a big slope at good speed. It is 125cc while others are 92-100cc so that extra power helps a lot.
-overall I thought the test ride was BRILLIANT. suspension is better than all others and you can deal with bad roads (like pune's) . I really enjoy the Flyte ride, it is stressfree and fun.
After the test ride I knew that the flyte would be my choice. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is priced well at 37500 rs (ie a little more than pep and a little less than activa, pleasure etc). also it has a 3 year warranty; and all reviews have appreciated quality and reliability esp of SYM engines and technology.
So far (only 6 days!) mileage has been about 43 kmpl or so. which is good for new scooter. it will only improve from here so I am happy.
Overall, the right choice in scooters today.
