Take the Flyte SYMply in your pride . Review on Kinetic SYM Flyte

Review after completing 1200 KM drive & comparison with Access. Previously wrote before actual purchase of Flyte, update would give few more insights to what you can expect with this bike.

1. Quite fuel efficient gave me around 38 KMPL before 1st service now it’s giving 43 KMPL, I mostly ride with pillion & being in Hyderabad, it is used in lot of uphill & down hill journeys. I am pretty happy with it after 10 weeks of use. As I interacted with some owners of Access & Activa, when I took the vehicle for registration, I am told that Activa is giving 27 KMPL(before 1st service & is said to give 40 after service) as for Access its 32 KMPL(before 1st service, but would go upto 45 KMPL after service). Having heard these I am pretty satisfied.

2. Electric start gave problem from 3rd day of purchase, I took to dealer, who replaced battery(saying faulty battery, as was leaking) in no time(takes at the most 10 mins of your time). Again gave problem after a week, again battery replaced(saying could be weak battery) after 10 days took for 1st service again same problem; it was due to faulty rectifier which charges battery, which has been replaced & Flyte is great again.

3.If you are of heavy build, more than 75Kgs & above 5'8", then this one might give you a bit of trouble in pillion ride as Leg space is a bit inept, I think Access scores more on this front. I didn’t feel this in the early rides, but have been experiencing this of the late.

4.Fuel meter is bit dodgy as said by many other users of Flyte, when it shows in red area(1st time) then it has more than half a litre.

5. I recently went on a 110 KM drive, I was simply amazed by drive comfort, I drove mostly abt 60 KMPH with pillion, it gave me cool 45 KMPL on highway. I touched max speed 75 KMPH & drive was smooth as usual, no vibrations at all.

6. As for the ground clearance, yep its low, you will have to cut your speed, quite a bit around the speed breakers, this is one more point scored by Access. It’s not much of a problem for single drive its only when you drive with pillion.

But having said that, Access does not offer you 3 Yrs/30K KM warranty, nor does it offer Toll free number to get free service when your vehicle breaks down(see confidence of Kinetic SYM, in this offer, they say it wouldn't breakdown, if it does then they are responsible of fixing & that too with a turn around time of 15 mins).

Vehicle comes with 3 free services; all other services are paid services, to be done in Kinetic Service centre(after every 3 months/every 2000 KM of ride). If not serviced as per the terms, Warranty stands void.

Comparison between Access & Flyte(comparing these as both are 125 CC without gear scooters) Both Access & Flyte are even in terms of looks & performance, differences seem to be superficial. To me Flyte scores better & it is arguably best.

Access: On road price in Hyd is 47K with minimal accessories(which include whole body guard, mirrors, foot rest & side stand), additional accessories that one might think of are Front Box which costs about 800/- & Remote locking for 3K, & stepney(tyre along with Holder) for 1800. Comes in Metallic Grey, Silver Blue, Black & Red. I liked the Remote locking facility, choice of colors, looks, style & one key slot for all access(ignition, handle locking & Seat lock).

Flyte: Lesser cost 43K on road, with minimal accessories(which include mirrors, foot rest, side stand and number plates), longer Warranty, more space under-seat, front fuel filling(in Access under-seat petrol filling) & ready availability(under 2 weeks for Red Color, for other colors ready available in Hyd). Flyte has better braking - Drum diameter(130 mm vs 120 mm for Access). I liked, Black & Green colors, other colors available are Red, Lavender & Silver(but priced Rs. 500 more). Ensure you take Seat cover & Buzzer(for side lights), these cost Rs. 295/-.
