If you are planning to take up this vehicle, read this carefully.. I started looking for an auto gear vehicle that I & my wife (mainly my wife) can use it. I was looking for a vehicle that
gives decent pick-up & can reach up to 60kmph speed easily.
should be comfortable to drive & handle in city traffic.
Engine should have good performance, should give good mileage.
should be light weight and should not be tall (for convenience of my wife).
As I am a big fan of Honda vehicles & their quality (As I have Unicorn & Activa for my sis), I was thinking to take Activa or Dio. But my wife did not like Activa because of weight & look (Same with Suzuki Access). So my search narrowed to Honda Dio, Hero Honda Pleasure & Kinetic Flyte.
But when I enquired for Dio, I knew that now it’s coming with new sporty graphics, I did not like the looks at all, Honda really needs to concentrate to improve their vehicle looks.
I gone thro' mouthshut and found some very good reviews on Flyte, I seen their site and found quite good features & comparisons. I visited Sri Surya Wheels, Hyd for Kinetic Flyte, They have good staff and I & my wife had a test drive. They made me convinced that its one of the best vehicle in its genre.
My wife who used to drive scooty was happy with the vehicle, later I drove the vehicle on the highways and I found some serious issues with this vehicle, when I was @35 kmph & tried to overtake a bus, vehicle was dying.
After using this vehicle for past 5 months, here are some pros & cons.
*Pros:
*1) Has very nice pickup from 0 to 30 kmph speed.
2) Smooth engine does not make much noise or vibrations, feels good.
3) Front fuelling, really convenient.
4) Front shock absorber, something you will not find in any other vehicle in its category, it goes smooth on bad road, I knew that front shock absorbers are being imported from Sym.
5) Light weight easy to park, good front & rear brakes, good storage space.
Cons:
1) Main disappointing is the performance of the engine; it does not feel like 125 cc. Once vehicle crosses 35 kmph speed, pickup is pathetic, with pillion rider vehicle take 20 - 25 seconds to go from 40 to 60 kmph speed, this is something not at all expected from 125 cc bike, very annoying. You don’t see this issue in test drive as you hardly go to that speed.
I have activa (100cc) & it has tremendous pickup @ 40kmph, it takes merely 3-5 seconds to reach from 40 to 60.
2) Poor mileage, it gives mileage of 125 cc but power is of 75 cc, they need to work on engine. Once more thing I found is, accelerator has larger play compare to other vehicles, so if I give full throttle (only way to pickup @50kmph), It drinks fuel in bulk and tank goes empty soon.
3) Ground clearance could have been better, it hits big speed breakers.
4) Handlingis not so good, especially on turnings, easy to skid with round wheelbase.
5) It has nasty side stand, even when it’s pulled up, it hits leg if you don’t be careful.
6) Not comfortable sitting for pillion rider.
So overall vehicle is good for teens & girls who want light weight vehicle & happy with 40 kmph speed. But Kinetic has to seriously look to improve their vehicle engines, especially when you have competitors like Honda, Suzuki.. But if given a chance to rethink on this deal.. I would never go for this vehicle.
